Has your insurance gone up?

My renewal came through for my shed (Mk7 civic) they wanted £700 (15k a year, parked on driveway, business cover, 11years protected NCB)
Did a 2 minute confused comparison and found the exact same cover for £321 elsewhere. Needless to say I've cancelled the renewal with my current insurer![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)

graham sykes was the cheapest for us on our grs204 this year.
it's owned by my other half, she paid £1K last year and renewal was the same, after shopping around £1k was still the cheapest but we got a quote from graham sykes and got it down to £600 which for her is brilliant - she's only ever had low power cars so a 3.5 v6 with 300bhp + is always a bit iffy but she's slowly building up her "record"
Cool I'll try them next year, thanksit's owned by my other half, she paid £1K last year and renewal was the same, after shopping around £1k was still the cheapest but we got a quote from graham sykes and got it down to £600 which for her is brilliant - she's only ever had low power cars so a 3.5 v6 with 300bhp + is always a bit iffy but she's slowly building up her "record"
Due to the Merger, take over and slae of Markerstudy they have stopped writing business with most brokers but i hear they still offering cover and renewal with the likes of flux, they own Coop ins who are still trading and they may come back into the market once they have capacity sorted etc but sadly i feel it will be for standard risks not the higher risks that they used to do.
Also i accept the moans for rising insurance but with the additional costs bput onto brokers and insurers by the likes of the FAC they are a business not charities. i cannot believe insurers still offer sub £200 premiums. My broker do nothing under £500 as new customers as the cost of a new policy i s alot more than their commission they get.

I was told Markerstudy had reached their capacity and applied to get their quota for business on their Tradex arm shifted so they could increase their capacity. Hence though they are not doing renewals but they are still Markersudy Insurance and bear the same name. No, i didn't understand it either...Also i accept the moans for rising insurance but with the additional costs bput onto brokers and insurers by the likes of the FAC they are a business not charities. i cannot believe insurers still offer sub £200 premiums. I've got a Jap import mk5 gti with modifications (remap, induction kit etc.) and i'm with Sterling.
Last years price was £340 this years renewal quote is £390 so around 15% increase. This is with protected no claims and driving other vehicles.
I've rang just about every car insurer that deals with modified cars and basically all said the same thing 'That's a steal we can't get anywhere near it'.
Still going to ring up and see if i can get them to come down a bit but thought i'd post this for anyone else looking for modified car cover.

Partners renewal came in. £650 up from £320, Plus I still need to add a claim as a Deer smashed up the side of my car. So that will push it up.
Ran a few comparisons but not much cheaper
, Then again it's a Saturday so not sure if the old rule of quotes are higher on the weekend still apply.

Just got my renewal for the Mustang from Esure, gone from £331 to £666 so doubled, no change in circumstances, claims or motoring convictions in the past year.
A quick look at the meerkats shows I could get it down to £360, so only a 10% increase. Strangely Esure didn’t appear on the list of quotes.

Same with me and LV=, who I was insured with at the time of doing the chubby opera singer and meerkat searches. Not in the search results.A quick look at the meerkats shows I could get it down to £360, so only a 10% increase. Strangely Esure didn’t appear on the list of quotes.
But BMW Flex who I ended up with is part of the LV= group. Bizarre.
Renewal notifications starting to come through (all at once thanks to bloody Admiral and their stupid Multicar a few years ago!)
Mixed bag... mostly modest increases, except for my CLS which has reduced with Tesco the existing insurer. Interestingly Tesco are also coming top on my "compare the Meerkat" quotes, so they are evidently bidding for business.
