Agreed. I struggle to get excited about the interior in my 370Z, but I just accept that most Japanese interiors are just pretty crap though(my S14a 200SX's interior was the same as well). So for me you don't buy a Japanese car for its interior, you buy it for the way it drives in my opinion(I loved/love the way the 200SX/370Z drive).

The problem with that...is that the interior is where you spend the most time as you say, so if it looks crap/feels cheap and nasty, then it will grate and niggle I reckon. So I'd imagine that most owners are just turning a blind eye to it like I do in the 370. I'd imagine that the owners of the GT86/GR86 do the same too.
I agree with that, although not an owner. I was looking for something different and fun so took the BRZ and GT86 out for extended test drives (I know they're pretty much the same car). Apart from being underpowered, in my opinion, they weren't the nicest interiors to be sat in and so my decision was made. What's funny is that the negative experience in them made me switch to the complete opposite end of the scale in terms of power and a nice place to spend time in.

Almost £45,000 for a supermini. Car prices are getting ridiculous.
2014 an Abarth 695 could be specified up to £53k…… to be fair to the Yaris it’s still the cheapest of the competition that it’s normally compared to which is the next class up.

I think the GR Yaris is in a complete class of its own, nothing else like it at all so I reckon it must be worth the 45k, i do find it a tad challenging in the looks department mind, from some angles looks a bit odd to my eyes. (Rear arches)

For those of you who were asking...

Lowering the seat makes a huge difference in my opinion. I fitted the DNA kit to mine which drops it 30mm. The best £350 i have spent. You feel in the car rather than on it. I'm 6ft2" so the mirror is still slightly in the way, but visibility is much improved overall. You can file away the mirror stalk (for free) to raise it all the way to the roof but I haven't felt the need to do that.

The wheel feels slightly too far away for me, so maybe a wheel extender would be a worthwhile mod.

Rear seats are fine for kids. Mine are 4 and 8 so are in a forward facing seat and a booster. My 8 year old doesn't fit behind me, so she sits on the opposite side or in the front with the airbag off. She says it's claustrophobic in the back.

The boot is useless, but that's the price you pay for zero rear overhang. With the seats folded i can fit a mountain bike or 4 x 18"x8" wheels in the back. It's practical for what it is.

A couple of other things. The roof wrap will fail after a few years and the headlamps are rubbish. Also I'd recommend some rain-x for the rear window.

Yes I can see why you’d say that but realistically it fits in with the Golf R, A35 AMG, S3.

I’m glad these exist.

I’ve drove a Mk1 circuit pack and liked it but admittedly didn’t love it.

The Mk2 sounds like a nice improvement and that feedback was took onboard by Toyota.

Probably not a car I’d buy but still a fan!

About as accurate as saying a Miata is a 323 with the roof cut off.

I purchased a Scarlet Flare (Red) GR Yaris Circuit pack in April 2021 and it very quickly became firm favourite in a small collection of cars I own.

Fortunately I have been successful in the ballot to get a new mk2 car and was informed yesterday that the car will be delivered to my local dealer in Builth Wells sometime in November this year.

I have ordered a manual in precious metal (grey)

I like it. It's almost retro - 80s rally car stylie.

We moan about "big iPads" (boorrrinngg..), and then something different comes along and we moan about that too...

Great little car overall looks like to be, although owning the previous model for 18 months i would worry about making it any stiffer. Certainly if you use it as a daily driver on our roads. Yeah it's more expensive, but so is everything and the original was under priced if we're honest....

It’s all kind of irrelevant because if you don’t have a slot you’re not getting one (for now).
Yes - most people on the GR-Yaris forums that got offered a space on the ballot have been subsequently rejected - almost no one is being offered the chance to buy one of these in the UK.

It's a good thing too, as I missed out on being on the ballot at all. So I bought an old V8 Jaguar instead
I've got a Mk1 GRY and an old supercharged V8 Jaguar - best of both worlds !!
