I'm not surprised. The last time I was in the UK I had a 3 series rental which comfortably filled every space I parked in. A 90's 5 series is probably smaller than a current 3, certainly not much in it. A modern 5 must be absolutely huge in many older European towns.
Good point.

The G90 3 Series is less than a centimetre shorter than the E34 but nearly 8cm wider and 6cm taller.

Compared to the E36 saloon the G90 is 28cm longer, nearly 12cm wider and 7cm taller.

Good point. 5 Series sales in Europe in recent times are about a 1/3 of what they were 30 years ago.

Wasn't the F80 M3 comparable in size to the E39 M5? Someone told me that, though must admit I didn't toddle off to fact check their statement.

The G90 3 Series ...
I see this idea I have of a 3-series-sized 5-series is rubbing off on you.
G20 perhaps? smile

I’m currently in Iowa and there are plenty of bigger and heavier vehicles including the Chevy my Daughter has.

Personally I wouldn’t touch a hybrid or a 5 series but nobody is forcing you to buy one. The sales numbers will determine whether BMW have calculated accurately.
Which one of those bigger and heavier car is claiming to be a sports sedan and the ultimate driving machine?

People are free to buy whatever they want. I am equally free to laugh at them for being stupid enough to buy this whale.
