Why eat Bratwurst when you can have Lasagna - am I doing that right?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with a stash of old car mags.
I've got a few but they are generally just ones that had my photos in.
I've also got an old Max Power that I'm in.

I've a stack of old Volks World magazines, I used to have piles of custom car magazines, hot rod and U.S VW magazines. After moving house a few times and realising I'd not looked at them I got rid of a load. Now just have the Volks World and the magazines that me and my friends were features in from France, Germany and America. Still need to find a copy of the Japanese magazine.

I only ever seem to buy magazines when I'm going on holiday these days which seems a shame

I had a Sport 160 on Jenvey ITBs. Was a mental thing. But a 111S is a better car

There is a case for saying the basic original 118bhp car is the best, especially on MMC brakes.

Lovely though the Elise was I always much preferred the balance of a Caterham 7.

Jeremy is your man on living with a Gallardo.

I have always liked them and yes an R8 is the sensible choice……but who buys a V10 engined car to be sensible?!

Always felt that Gallardos felt a tad ‘fragile’ to be in whereas an R8 has that Audi’ness inside and just felt better screwed together.

But hey, what do I know biggrin
You rang? biggrin

The earlier 5.0 litre pre-LP series Gallardos have well known fragilities from cat ingestion and the resulting bore scoring. Not an insurmountable problem (there is a well documented rebuild of a high mileage one here on PH) but something to be aware of in purchasing.

The later LP models benefit from greater Audi-ness in their construction, more power from the new 5.2 engine and less fragility. I've had mine more than 10 years now. yikes

Why buy the softer, slightly less powerful Audi if you're looking for a V10? It's never going to be a Lamborghini in different clothes. wink The V8 is a different matter and really not a Lambo comparable. Here's a comparison of the two from these hallowed pages p.s. the correct answer is the arancio one. wink

You might want to save a little more and look at the later models unless you can be sure of the robustness of the earlier ones. Oh, and the manual is the one to go for (but I would say that biggrin). driving

I think I closed the deal on the day we were at Goodwood for a Lotus Ride and Drive event. driving

Neither the Evora nor Exige convinced me I'd made the wrong choice. biggrin
