This is glorious.

6 speed manual Murci SV with wing delete and 1 of 1 colour combo.

I swear every year the Murci looks better and it didn't look too shabby to start with!

Certainly a classier shape than the newer models, to my eyes anyway.

Lovely, 111S was the sweet spot for S1 imo
yes But I think the Toyota engine'd S2s are a far superior package.

Doesn't need the ducktail IMO. The clean lines are more than enough. Stunning otherwise though.

I think I'd favour an S for the Exige. The extra torque makes a big difference IMO.

Re Alfas, I watched Octopussy last night, I know, the best Bond in Moore, and the driving of the GTV6 is so good. Such an excellent chase sequence.

It’s perfectly oversteering, not overtly flamboyantly, but right there.

The guy on the BMW is a full on lunatic though.

Like all the lambo’s, they look better with less st stick to them (Phil Morrison’s exquisite car aside).

They just strike me as a bit ‘look at me’. Far too big and heavy to drive quickly on anything other than wide A roads. A Murciélago is getting on for 2,000kg with fluids. I’m sure it feels epic in a straight line, and can be made to have loads of grip on sticky tyres, but you aren’t punting one down your favourite b road at more than about 3/10ths laugh

I tried one for size years ago and I couldn't get physically comfortable. I also felt ridiculous. Whatever it is that's needed to not look like a plonker in one, I don't have it. Visibility was somewhat challenging, too, but I guess that works both ways: If you can't see out, then no-one can see you, either.

I agree, but I’m bored

Love the Yellowbird, I still remember first seeing the Faszination tape at a friend of mine's - as soon as it finished we rewound it and watched it again! Stefan Roser and the Yellowbird, some partnership.
I still have my copy of “World Sports Cars” magazine that featured the CTR on the front, and had never heard of it before. I couldn’t get over the top speed being more than an F40

Strangely I don’t recall the car ever being mentioned by the regular motoring press at the time, even Performance Car

I occasionally buy an old car mag from eBay.
The cars & quality of the writing plus the nostalgia element make them a brilliant distraction.

I love the old car mags, I have a few 90’s Performance Car issues but my Dad has EVERY issue of CAR magazine up until a few years ago. Very nostalgic reading!

Are these now looking subtle enough for day to day driving without attracting too much attention?

Or do you just buy an R8 instead?

Anyone here driven one?

Jeremy is your man on living with a Gallardo.

I have always liked them and yes an R8 is the sensible choice……but who buys a V10 engined car to be sensible?!

Always felt that Gallardos felt a tad ‘fragile’ to be in whereas an R8 has that Audi’ness inside and just felt better screwed together.

But hey, what do I know biggrin
