My girlfriends only gone and won the white Evo 9 on Pristine Comps! Bought 10 tickets for £3.96.
Currently in a dilemma of whether to take the car and sell it on, or £20k cash alternative.
The jammy sod won £20k cash on 7 days in 2022 as well!

She’s gone for the cash anyway. £19k now and then the remaining £1k once she’s had a picture with the big cheque

Congratulations to her but is that not a bit sneaky? I'd be expecting the full value of the win regardless of doing any promo photos for them. Is there anything in the competition t&c that says otherwise?
7 Days did exactly the same when she won the money with those. It’s how they do their marketing I guess. Show that it’s real and people do actually win ![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)

In the days when BOTB had their cars at Gatwick etc, they openly showed that ticket sales were at least twice the retail cost of the cars. And as someone pointed put earlier the odds on winning the National Lottery jackpot are now some 45m to 1, and apart from the ticket price having doubled, the prize fund seems to be rather lower than it used to be.
Which reminds me; are Football Pools still going?

I've noticed recently that BOTB have dropped their cash alternative down. It always used to be RRP of the car minus 20%. The most expensive car would offer about £150k and is now £130k.
As they're doing instant wins too I guess all of the other companies' competition is having an effect.

I saw that they were bought out recently by a big Israeli gambling guy, I'm guessing it's more down to that.As they're doing instant wins too I guess all of the other companies' competition is having an effect.

Wow mega congrats what a win! See what they go for and whether its worth the hassle, I'd be tempted to take the cash nowadays rather than try sell it, see what similar are worth. Ofc go for a drive in it first though Currently in a dilemma of whether to take the car and sell it on, or £20k cash alternative.

Football pools used to be my dad’s business. National lottery act of 1993 destroyed it completely. Being able to be able bet on a game of chance rather than, ahem, “skill”. Which reminds me; are Football Pools still going?

Can they legitimately withhold the 1k, if they have offered upfront the full 20k? Just curious, can see why they do it, just wondering the legitimacy of if? If you said no to photos would they withhold that 1k?
Honestly, I’m not sure! But I know it’s not just this specific company (Pristine Competitions) that does it. Dohnut said:
Hmm... latest DCG double comp is a tough choice!
M3 + £140k for me. With the cash I’d buy a non-RS Cayman GT4 so I could actually use it and a wrap for the M3. And still have a decent chunk of cash left over.
I’m 52 years old and those are two *very* expensive and desirable cars, so why are they both, but particularly the M3, spec’d in Max Power purple with gold wheels.
I’m all for not going for black, grey or lease car white but seriously

Are they getting them slightly cheaper from dealers who cant shift them ? Seen some awful colours on different car comp pages recently. With the cash I’d buy a non-RS Cayman GT4 so I could actually use it and a wrap for the M3. And still have a decent chunk of cash left over.

I'm guessing it's like the heavily modified ones. Bit of fun when it's a competition but going in to buy with your own money you'd be thinking of how much you're going to lose on it and/or how much of a pain it'd be to move on in the future.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
