The Racing used a 24 valve 2 litre v6 that was the precursor to the Ghibli 2.0 engine used in the Open Cup.Certainly not a shamal v8.
There was a Ghibli GT that had a v8 from the 3200 fitted after a terminal engine failure, and also I know of a Ghibli in Europe that had a Chevy ls7 installed in it.
