Sadly I fear this will simply disappear into some gigantic chintzy warehouse collection, only to be rolled out for those ultra-exclusive Porsche meets where the owner knows his super special Singer/Tuthill Dakar thing will get him verbally noshed off by all his peers. Then back into the collection after Jeeves has wiped all the spunk off.
Jesus wept. A great deal of these type of clients are usually highly passionate, knowledgable and just huge car nuts. After all, it doesn't matter how much money you have, to make a commission such as this usually requires a mental commitment to the hobby as much as a financial one.
Get over yourself.

I thought tuthill had been commissioned to build a short run of these. Must not have worked out.

That's pretty epic.
Better looking than Porsche's efforts, I wonder if there's a future where Stuttgart start remaking old 911 shells for very special projects like this? There's clearly money to be made in bespoke cars based on classic 911s.
Classic parts are so well supported by Porsche that anyone can do it. Entire cars from way back when can be bought in parts form. Get all the panels + a few rolls of gaffer tape to hold them together & voilà - a shell for your own very special project !Better looking than Porsche's efforts, I wonder if there's a future where Stuttgart start remaking old 911 shells for very special projects like this? I think it’s cool but no idea what I’d use it for (although some of the roads round here are pretty bad!). However it wouldn’t be close to the top of my list from either Singer or Tuthill if I’m honest. That said, it’s for people that can probably don’t have to worry about choices like that!
While this is at the extreme off roading end of things, I would love to see a watered down version. Something more like the original 959 rally cars using the 997 carrera 4 (because it’s still small enough to be fun, and made in large enough numbers to be cheap) as a base. Nothing too extreme, but raised ride height , long travel suspension and high profile tyres so it could be driven on U.K. roads without destroying the wheels and tyres on every B road or town centre excursion.

Just run it on 17’s with a decent profile - check out Harrys Garage when he reviews the Theon 911. Looks so much more purposeful with chunky tyres. I love it.
But what concerns me more generally is how many Singers get commissioned, eventually built after a significant, delivered to customers who then off load them very bloody swiftly!
You even see the super DLS cars with the mega Williams F1 engine for sale regularly.
Is this a "those with money getting bored" or "these things have a lot of faults/bad workmanship"
