Hello, I am new to this forum and I have joined, first of all because I share your enthusiasm for cars in general and racing cars in particular but secondly, because in the not too distant future I will be in a position financially to invest in ‘the car of my dreams’. I have a short list of such cars and at the top of it is an AC Cobra but when I browse PistonHeads’ cars for sale the AC Cobra or Shelby Cobra is not included.
Is there a specific reason why or is it simply that there no examples currently for sale?
I should say at this point that although I have followed motor racing man and boy I have only a layman’s understanding of car mechanics and no experience at all in motor racing or track days. I have in the past owned a Lotus Exige which was a lot of fun. I live in France and I have carried out some research in current availability of the AC Cobra here but I would be prepared to buy a right- hand drive model if it ticked the right boxes. What I am finding difficult to understand is the huge range in prices and while it is clear that a genuine original in good condition will command a healthy 6 figure price tag, the many examples in the ‘replica’ or ‘continuation’ category have a bewildering price range. I would be grateful if any among you could provide me with a better understanding of the market and some advice on a good approach in assessing what may be a wise investment or not.

Welcome to PistonHeads.

All the AC cars for sale, including a number of Cobras, can be found here in the classifieds.

Hi, Roy from Hull, East Yorks.
I drive a 2009 Audi S8 D3 with that beautiful V10. Fitted with a Hass Exhaust and remapped to 525BHP & 600 Nm of Torque. It's a brake rider below 30mph.
I hope to find like-minded PHers for meets and drive-outs.

Hi Ben et all,

Thanks for accepting my joining request. I'm currently a Porsche Boxster owner having many previous Porsche marks and loving the brand. I've joined to predominantly search for a Sapphire blue 981 Boxster GTS with high spec and chat to like minded folk.

So If anyone know's of one coming up for sale or thinking of trading to a dealer, please drop me a message. I'm not a dealer and purely searching for the right car to upgrade our current Boxster.

Thanks

Matt

Welcome! It doesn't look like we have any for sale at the moment in the classifieds, but worth using this link to set up a saved search https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/search?colour=BLU&...

If you then go to your saved search page, you can set your notifications to be hourly (it's daily by default I think), so you'll be one of the first to know when a car goes live that matches your criteria https://www.pistonheads.com/account/savedsearches

Has anyone had a problem where the two rectangular display panels fail to illuminate? These are where the words 'Power, Beauty, Soul' appear at start-up and then display the mileage. All the other displays and dials are working correctly as is the roof operation(no CRM fault via AMDS). My car is an Auto 2008 DB9 Volante Many thanks for any advice.

I recently went to a job interview on my motor bike, while I was in the interview my motor bike was stolen. I have social, domestic and leisure insurance cover. Can my insurance company invalidate my cover by classing it as a form of commuting.Im struggling to get a straight answer.

Welcome to PH! Very sorry to hear that. I'd recommend posting in our Speed, Plod & The Law forum here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&...
