Apologies for the fb marketplace link….

Ford Anglia Torino - never heard or seen one before. Can definitely tell it’s a Michelotti design though!
I assume the design work consisted of asking a couple of the coachbuilders to stick an HA Viva front on a 105E and then nipping off to the nearest bistro! It's not a bad looking car, in many ways, but not an improvement on Dagenham's effort.

The Mazda 2 is a weird one. I understand why Mazda sell it. But They still sell that alongside their own still named Mazda 2 that shares nothing with this car.

I suppose it’s going to people who just want a cheap small car and maybe like or live near a Mazda dealer. But it’s seems cheaper from Toyota and you get a better warranty off dealers who will be servicing and repairing them everyday.

I wonder if there is more incentive for sales people to sell one or the other.
Mazda were obliged to reduce the average CO2 emissions across the range, and rebadging the Toyota Yaris gave Mazda its first self-charging hybrid.

They made no effort to hide that it’s a Toyota. You can see the Toyota logo on the brake callipers and everywhere under the bonnet.

I change cars annually, and I don’t like spending money on a car for commuting; am on my second Mazda 2. The first did 55 thousand km with an average 83mpg.

Mazda’s client service was better than Toyota. The guarantee was longer, the price slightly lower after a 10% discount, the part exchange price was fair, although the lead time was long, the car is assembled in France.

To add, the other Mazda 2, the real one is sold in the US as Toyota Yaris.

What I find slightly amusing is that the original Triumph 2000 concept sketches had a reverse raked rear window (ala anglia) so here is a Ford that looks like a Triumph that was going to look like a Ford.

Doug Demuro did a video on one - shame that with their arsenal of interesting diesels it's only a 4 cylinder, but, still, what a machine!

This looked a surprisingly clean and pleasant design.

It's also either heavily customised or photoshopped, because that's not what a Dymaxion looks like.

What about this?

Khondro Diesel in Iran is still producing the Mercedes L337 short bonnet truck 65 years after launch!

Look like Cortina 80 (Mk5) mirrors to me. Certainly a Sierra inspired dashboard with what looks like a Sierra 87 steering wheel.

Escort 86 (Mk4) door pulls & electric window switches.
