68mm wider - is that all? Looks even wider. And the Defender is already massive - I wouldn't fancy taking one of these through one of those width restrictions you see so many of in London!

TBH other than the wheel arches & off road tyres (that it sounds like are only optional) unless there's a picture of an octa side by side with a bog standard one, I'd struggle to see the difference.
If that's the idea they were going for then well done, but I thought this was aiming at the G wagon which obviously doesn't look like the lesser benzes... scratchchin

Like the most expensive diving watches, not many get wet and I cant see many going wading in their £184K+ landy.....Still, nice to know it can I am sure

We live in strange times. Huge electrification, restomods and mega hyper st....Just not much in the middle at the moment for the everyman to get excited about. Back to the classifieds I go...

COMMON PHOSPHOR BRONZE PROPERTIES

Phos Bronze is an exceptionally strong and resilient metal, making it suitable for products with required fatigue resistance, wear, and chemical corrosion/exposure to the elements.

I like the hint that, unlike the 5.0S/C model, the colour options aren't just black or very dark grey, but I'll still stick with the Jag engined one, thanks.

I probably shouldn't, but I do like that. I like that Land Rover make powerful/fast 4x4s that can still do the business off-road if you really want to, because other than some ridiculous American stuff that I wouldn't want to be seen dead in anyway there's not a lot else out there that does.

And FFS why is it that a single, powerfully built chap driving his Rangie/Defender to his business premises - using precisely 0% of it's off-road capability - is seen as the most natural thing in the world and something to aspire to for any self-respecting PHer, whereas a woman driving her Rangie/Defender to drop the kids off at school - also using precisely 0% of it's off-road capability but at least using more of its seating capacity - is an abomination and emblematic of all that is wrong with the world? Coming out with that sort of crap in 2024 just makes you look like a bitter old divorcee/incel whose life hasn't turned out as well as hoped.

Imagine buying one and then speccing the school run 22" wheel and tyre package. rofl

On the whole though, I think it's pretty awesome. A Defender Raptor, basically, although way more expensive. Will suffer the same problem the Fords do in the UK though... not easy to find somewhere to use its full potential!

OK for a container ship. Unneccessary and overkill on a Land Rover.

Indeed. I've got a bridge (well, a hitch) to sell you.

(In this role, and for the price of PB, you should be into the sort of fancy SS grades that offer far superior stength/hardness/toughness.)

Fear not, most of them will end up on a container ship.

I'll stop with the cheap theft gags in a bit.

Will it be more reliable than the RRS SV which seem to be breaking after a couple 100 miles with the same drivetrain? I like it though, not that there’s any where in England to really use it to its full potential, maybe some forestry access roads.

Some comedian will be along in a minute, "something something potholes in Surrey".

This looks like silly fun. Less crap looking than the RRS SV, and infinitely less st than the G-wagen.

Would go nicely alongside an EMEYA, and a Valour as a "British" 3 car garage wink

I'm a long time LR fan/owner/critic and I can see why they are doing this. I presume its chasing the money that the aftermarket companies are taking for taking the stock V8 offering and tweaking it produce the exact same power of the Octa.

As for the swollen arches. That straight from the F150 Raptor/Shelby Edition playbook.

As for off road credentials. I recon the only one that will see off road action is the factory demonstrator. It wouldn't surprise me if LR isn't even engaged by an owner in any one of the ones they sell.

I do like the interior though. Nice colours.

Overall, this product doesn't interest me much, but thats fine. I'm not the target market. I'll be happy when I can afford a basic first edition S with the dreaded Ingenium 2.0 Diesel.

So looking at the configurator you can only get a V8 in Octa guise.
