RE: 380-mile VW Golf GTI Clubsport S for sale
Discussion
I'm not sure that is as expensive as some are suggesting. Yes, YES of course it is expensive, it's almost 50k, but you are getting an ostensibly 'new' version of what many claim is the best Golf GTi ever made. If its your thing, in the days of almost 50k hot hatches, I can't see why it doesn't make as much sense as any other new or nearly new hot hatch at the same price point, even if you are gonna use it. Card depreciate, buy it, use it, keep it or sell it, just sort wrap it in more cotton wool. What a brilliant, brilliant thing.
Don’t think it crazy money considering the car is like new, much prefer something like this then the tech overload of modern hot hatches, don’t really care that it will be destroyed off the lights by the rocket ships of today either. It was nice that VW let their hair down for once and did something a bit mad much the same as Renault did with some Megane’s.

....and look at what they cost today...Terminator X said:
Wouldn't pay that but at close to original £33k I'd have one. Those seats ![love](/inc/images/love.gif)
TX.
You aren't the only one that thought that... I know a lad who used to work at the large VW dealership at Lowedges, Sheffield. When these first came out, they had one at the forecourt, and someone stole the seats out of it one night. ![love](/inc/images/love.gif)

The cost to replace them from VW was ludicrous. Don't laugh, and I might be way off the mark here but I seem to remember him saying something like £10,000 for the pair. It might even have been £10k each. Either way, it was silly money!
If you like Golf GTi's these are special cars. I wanted to buy one, but with too many stripped out 2 seaters already in the garage I needed one sensible 4 seater car for practicality.
5 years ago I found a very low mileage 3 door CS Ed40 with as close to CS-S spec as I could, manual, Recaro buckets, Dcc suspension and rear seats!
it's not quite a CS-S, but in many ways it's better to use as a daily due to the adaptive cruise and the duo paint scheme is different.
I expect to keep it for some time, I just have to make sure I avoid driving a CS-S anytime soon!![confused](/inc/images/confused.gif)

The best version, I mean hyped to the moon and back, of, erm, a Golf.Nope. never worth that sort of outlay.

'The 911 GT3 of hot hatchbacks, superlative poise, performance and involvement'.....not my words, the words of EVO who gave it five stars...

You can pay over 30k for a mk1 gti. This is ostensibly a new car, buy it, drive it, keep it or sell it just like you woukd with any car of this type/price. Like I said, of course its expensive but that's the market, both new and used. Find another as the boring cliche goes...

You can skin it any way you want, but it’s a Golf, with a boring engine and some decent dampers and brakes. There’s a Megane and Civic and others that are very similar. Mk1 Golf GTI is an icon, this is just a modern Golf with no back seats 'The 911 GT3 of hot hatchbacks, superlative poise, performance and involvement'.....not my words, the words of EVO who gave it five stars...
