RE: Pagani reveals one-off 864hp Huayra Epitome
Discussion
I didn't like the Zonda when it first arrived (and all that was shown was a silver Zonda S), but as time went on (I we saw the likes of a carbon Zonda F) I think it looked great. I think the Huayra looks fiddly by comparison... and the Utopia far worse again. To me, Pagani is now synonymous with vulgur interiors and over-designed exteriors. Soz.
The exterior has benefited from our all being normalised to truly baroque looking hypercars, so while it's fussier than (e.g.) the Zonda it looks clean and purposeful to us in 2024. Except the wing; maybe someone saw an Esprit V8 and thought "yess, - but more, much more!"
The interior is another matter, to my eye it's jumped the dieselpunk-luxe shark, and needs a bit of a rethink.

[quote=Dazed & Confused]Have they tweaked the Huaryra’s looks over time, or has it just grown on me?
I remember it looking nowhere near as good as the Zonda, but this looks fantastic. (Except maybe the rear wing, which may need to grow on me a touch more.)
I wonder if the same will happen with the Utopia?

Just about to say the same, don't remember liking theses as much. Touch of LAF about the front wheel area.

The front bumper was very unorthodox looking on early cars which did it no favours. Pagani have changed it over the years and given the headlights a slight tweak. Which to my eye makes the later versions look more like the Zonda, which is no bad thing.

Latterly Pagani and Koenigsegg just remind me of certain haute horlogerie watch manufacturers where 'making a statement' or 'showing off' dictates all other principles (eg. MB&F, Richard Mille, etc) - and you end up with something perfect for the Kardashian-aspiring, instant-gratification, buy now, set of society.
I still think peak Zonda was the (relatively) plain yet still mind-blowing Zonda S:
