Some incredible bargains to be had from a continental European perspective. Over here, the AM, C63 and M6 would probably be 50k plus cars. You guys are really lucky in that regard. smile
Yes but in the same breath we’ve got the consequences of Brexit and broken Britain…
...and the crap weather! hehe

I'm strangely unmoved by those in the list. Maybe the Aston to waft around in from these.
For the money you can just about get into a 987 Spyder. I'd do that, or perhaps even better get a cheaper S & modify it for max ride comfort - smaller wheels & higher profile tyres, maybe slightly taller/softer suspension, depending. A shorter final drive would be fun too.

No Mustang? My V8 GT is a summer sizzler.

That does look lovely for sure. smokin

I've often thought that the Mustang would be a really nice replacement for the 370Z Roadster as well. I'd love a 5.0 V8 in my life for definite. cloud9

I almost got there when I had the X5 4.8iS(a 4.8 V8)...but not quite though! hehe

My dad had a 1979(Official Pace Car replica) Mustang 5.0 V8 from 1980 to 1990, so the Mustang was a big part of my life back then(and the car that got me into cars in the first place), so I feel like I need/I'd like to tick the 5.0 V8 box one day hopefully too.

Of this list I’d take the C63- bet it sounds immense with the roof down grumbling.

But in reality I’d also test drive the best manual 981 Boxster I could find too.

I used to think the Morgan shape was awful but at 52, mid-life crisis must have kicked in, and of all those, I find the Morgan the most interesting. The lack of storage space is a deal-breaker, though. I like to hide my tennis bag or whatever somewhere. Also, it's probably a PITA to drive everyday.

A thread made for me, I’m about to spend around £30-35k on a nice sounding convertible and currently mustang is top of the list, would be interested in hearing experiences of it please.

I realise that. I want to be able to but I suspect you have to really be in the mood.

That’s not a 997.2 - it’s a .1 with the correspondingly bore score prone engine.
Any decent 997.2 is out of budget. Surprised the writer didn’t double check as it looked cheap even to me and I have little interest in 911s.

Go for post April 2017 as tax is cheaper.

Don't expect Audi / BMW build quality and fit and finish, it's a Ford.

Some scuttle shake over bad roads.

Get used to filling stations.

Check for corrosion on bonnet edges and front wings, both aluminum.

Fit a Ghost II immobiliser for peace of mind.

Huge power, in Sports plus and track mode, great fun but be careful when tyres cold.

Top down in the sun is difficult to beat.

Whenever an Elise pops up in these threads they just look so perfect and make you want to just hop in a drive!
I’d take Aston for road trips with the Mrs and an S1 exige for track and fun.

Had the ecoboost Mustang convertible as hire car in Florida Keys this year and thought it was terrible, very cheap interior and not good to drive. Always thought I might like one but wouldn’t go near one now. Ive had a couple of Vantage V8 convertibles and they were great cars but do come with possibility of large repair bills.

I couldn’t put up with the Merc interior so I would have to opt for the Aston …. Or more sensibly, find a nice late XKR.

But luckily not something I need to worry about as summer was last week. Back down to 16 degrees with showers now so all thoughts of open top motoring have vanished for another year.
25C and sunny in London. Just had a lovely drive out to Epsom with the top down on my XKR, perfect.

Really useful thanks, changing from a Saab 9-3 so scuttle shake is a familiar trait 🫨

I've never driven a Convertible or a Roadster that doesn't suffer from scuttle shake either.

Of this bunch, the Aston.
Primarily because it’s the only cabin that doesn’t look like it was spec’d by Trump’s hair ‘technician’.

I had an Ecoboost convertible before the V8 GT. It was a disappointing car and as you say not good to drive.

Agreed with comments above… XKR takes some beating, particularly for the money.

The Mercedes seems pretty good value. .
Yep, that seems like a lot of car with the least compromise from that list.
Indeed, good price lovely combo, 510hp and looking good.

also inside great seats and lovely tunnel/dash materials.

Blimey, didn't realise such cars were that cheap. The Aston is still a very handsome beast at 17 years old.

I'd also choose them in the same order as shownl funnily enough.

Summer 'sizzler' in the UK though, if you can call a few dry weeks a year at less than 30 degrees that!
