Lovely apart from the front lights, the new led ‘slashes’ do absolutely nothing for it, looks aftermarket and tacky

I've been waiting for a Continental hybrid, but this isn't it, for me.

Looks great with the roof up.

Not sure on the convertible something looks off to me.

Hybrid will suit this well I think.

Good option on the market for those interested.

Probably the best GT car if you must have that type of car. In the real world there's nothing an 8 series doesn't do that this can, for half the price.

I love Bentley for what they do and this is no exception. If you're in the market for a tank of a luxury GT why bother looking elsewhere. Not the kind of car I'd ever see myself wanting though.

2,636 kg…. Words fail me, almost:

A friend drove his SLS over the Alps alongside a Conti and a 911. The Bentley got the nickname “the Hindenburg”, on account of the load on its brakes, which were red-hot.
Technically, the Hindenburg was lighter than air, it was hot though.

It's not a Bentley inside. The rest is okay... Great performance too.

Like that. Suitably elegant, classic. Front is beautiful & iconic, rear slightly less so.

Interior is losing a bit of 'Bentliness' though and morphing into luxury VAG group.
Are we sure the interior is that different?

I'm not convinced the interior has changed significantly at all.

I assumed people were talking about the colours rather than the layout.

Hence me going on the configurator and matching the interiors to actual pictures of the old car.

Complaining about colours (if indeed that is the case) is pointless when the people actually buying a car can spec whatever colours they want.

Agreed, but it does suggest the sort of customers Bentley might be targetting.

Indeed - customers who have to means to buy their products and allow Bentley to continue being profitable as a business; the majority of those buyers do not have European tastes, which is perfectly fine.

I suspect people have a rose tint regarding the original Conti, as if it was like a Brooklands inside. A quick search for images of the 2003 interior reveals something quite unlike earlier cars; globular ("organic"), well laced with recognisable Audi bits and, to my 2024 eyes, pretty horrible...

Is it just me who thinks it looks like a facelift, akin to Ferrari's 458 to 488? While I realise they have to preserve a marketable aesthetic, I was expecting a touch more daring after the Batur/Bacalar siblings; feel a bit underwhelmed.

There is a limit to the number of coats of lacquer you can apply to a turd. Has lottery winner appeal, I suppose.

Small world, I have just been in one, my neighbour has one for the week (he works for Bentley), Its stunning, everything about it, Roof down, rolling off our estate quietly, then onto the A road and its an absolute beast. If the lotto pays up, this would be my daily 100%.

I'm amused at the consternation that the interior has wrought.

I could happily live with either of the interiors as shown. Wouldn't necessarily be my choice if I was doing the spec, but I quite like them. Yellow details in particular.

I think the later versions of the Conti interior make those early car interiors look horrible too. The "German" wood from the 1st gen being the main offender... That being said, the Brooklands interior is very unergonomic looking too, very slabby and immediately makes me think "stuffy old codger, pipe and slippers".

Clearly the majority of demographic Bentley is aimed at buying these new cars are not the same as the ones into the old ideas that came with Brooklands-era cars and is all the better for it.
