I had a 240z way back in the early 80s , when they were cheaper than an equivalent Capri, would love another one , but not that one. The interior is all wrong and not a patch on the original, especially that gear stick with it's rubber surround. Looks like a plumbing tool.

£100k is a bargain compared to what people spend on hideously cliched restomod 911s.
Nah, not really.

There were far more 240z's than equivalent 911s made so they're not that exclusive and demand will never match a 911 which also would affect the price people are prepared to pay for one.

The price of restomodded 911s also factors in the base price of the car itself which obviously would be significantly higher than a 240z and that's before we even factor in the level of modification that goes on at the higher levels with things like carbon fibre panels etc.

I am a big fan of restomods, I think theres some amazing examples out there, but they tend to carry a hefty price tag

Love it. Bahama yellow also one of my favorite colours. GBP 100k is a test I’d fail for that kind of car but I still think it’s worth it.

That is tastefully done...even like the colour.

240z's always have perfectproportions to me.
It's the combination of ride height and tyre size that finish it off to my eye. So often the look of a classic car is spoiled by cartoonish wheels, tyres, and ride-height.

100ish doesn't even sound silly (assuming the restoration work is to the standard it appears in the photos).

Year foir year they made more Zs, but over a much shorter period and relatively few came to the UK. There are orders of magnitude more 911s here than 240Zs.

You should really have look at what goes into one of these MZR cars if you think the average 911 restomod has more effort put into it.

I'm not so sure (although happy to stand corrected). Around 168,000 240Zs were produced vs. 198,000 'G model' 911s ('73-'89) which seem to be the ones favoured by the resto-modders.

I'd have thought the 911 would have a far lower attrition rate over the years too. I agree that demand for air-cooled 911s is sky-high and there will always be more punters willing to pay top dollar but, despite being a much cheaper, mass-market option in its day, a decent 240z resto-mod, at less than half the price of an equivalent 911, looks a better buy today

That advertisement; really is a case TLDR, paragraphs please.

Many jurno’s said of the 240Z, it looks like a copy of …

IMO, it was one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

From, an engineering, design point of view, it was streets ahead of the competition.

Did I mention, the ‘Jaguar F Type’ looks like a copy of the ‘Datsun 240Z’.

I think it's gorgeous, absolutely stunning, I'll never have £100k so my opinion of it's worth is irrelevant, I will say though, if I had the disposable funds to spare on a car, then I would define tempted with this.

That really is lovely!

I'd be interested in something like this - lovely colour, silver Minilites, original interior and virtually brand new. Oh, and half the price....

agreed, its very expensive to restore such sort cars, not that I want to pay it, I see those models as say 60k in such state, but I know its very pricy to get it that way.

Love the clean way it looks under the bonnet.
