I've only had the chance just now to catch up this volume of the Thread and I must say it's off to a cracking start. ![thumbup](/inc/images/thumbup.gif)
Plenty of good bits but this is my favourite:

But yes, a Lotus or Bi-Turbo might be a bit borky if added to what you already have.![thumbup](/inc/images/thumbup.gif)

I've had chances to buy both a Lotus and a Bi-Turbo over the years but the fear of costly bork has always driven me from their ownership. That's admittedly very wimpy but life outside of cars has to drive priorities sometimes and that's why they're not, and probably never will be now, on my driveway.
Says the man who has been staring down God of Bork for however many years with a delectable selection of BMs and Alpinas. ![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)

There is something about a sidewall... Perhaps the inner caveman sees a bulbous curve and it instinctively triggers a thought of something else...
And, I'd want a headrest. I reckon with that car, when I do the $50 bill test to my passenger, or if I sneeze, I'm going to whack my head on that rollbar.

Nope.
If I'm going to spend silly money on a retro saloon......

Each to their own, but how is £45000 "silly money" in the context of £92000? If I'm going to spend silly money on a retro saloon......

But that Merc isn't £45k, it's £87k. So roughly 87/92nds as silly. Allowing for a bit of rounding and fluctuations in the Euro:GBP, it's within the realms of parity.
Correct, this isn't snapchat.
Jaguar aside - the chap painting my race car has got either an S-Type or Mk2 converted to X300 XJR running gear that I think he's fallen out of love with. I've only seen it from a distance, across a canal, through some shrubbery. But it sounds like a wonderful idea, and I reckon I know someone to sort the bodywork out...

Oh, and where did £45k come into it?!?
Read my post. The bit where I say it was originally priced at 45k. Oh, and where did £45k come into it?!?

So over 50% less than that- admittedly lovely - MK1 and why I was surprised that you stated the 6.3 was "silly money".
