Spotted 1U on a Kia in the Midllands this afternoon. Certainly worth more than the car!

I quite simply don’t believe that, you’re making it up.

It’s true. For example H1 used to be on a series of Toyotas, Carina, Avensis etc.

It's local to me, I drove past the house it resides at normally but wasn't in when I went past today. I believe it originally belonged to the current owner's grandfather, there are some details about it on the RNC website I believe.

Dumb question… are there any ongoing fees with these plates? Or is it simply the one off fee for the plate + VAT+ admin?

When you put the plate on a different car it’s £80.

Technically it is £80 to put a plate on a retention certificate - no charge to actually assign it to something later on.

10 year limit for assignment or certificate renewal IIRC.

Newbridge,Edinburgh last week, no picture as driving unfortunately ( and not close enough for dashcam either )

V 10 on a L460 Range Rover. Issued by Lanark County Council, no early records apparently but must surely be close to being an original 1904 issue?

I think that would be an accurate assumption.
