1 G on a previous model (L405) Range Rover, on the passing Harthill services yesterday.
Two red flags there.

Gillian doesn't keep her cars long enough to own a previous model.

Previously on a black BMW iX.... now on a white one.

One for you Sir Bagalot - 1F was spotted on a Phantom last week. Same colour combo as WHO 151T

I had a look at your website, and a cursory DVLA check, before I posted and did think the same. If the standard of driving was anything to go by, the triviality of a false number plate is probably not of much concern to the driver...

Saw this one today, more a great car than a great plate, but it did sound like a jet!

Apparently it is prototype number 8/8, he had just come back from Silverstone where he had been racing with Adrian Newey in his own AMV.

Do you know where it was spotted?

It is fake. 1 F was recently sold, it's now on this

Pretty crazy that people just fake these and put whatever they want on their car. Still, I suppose a lifetime of fines is a lot cheaper than forking out for the real thing. biggrin

I don't understand how those rear venturi tunnels (??) don't fall foul of pedestrian injury regulation!

4x1, the under-appreciated combo (IMHO!) smile

Should be original issue too, as only a few were used in reverse back in the day and D was one of them (IIRC).

At the crem in Southend this morning.

That’s got to be one of the oldest plates still on the road...!?
1904 I think, couldn't get any earlier.

If you are not already aware http://www.registrationnumbersclub.org.uk is well worth a look, and the newsletter is very good for those who like plates!
Thanks for the heads-up on this organisation!

Got some cool plates on display at the annual get-together - next one 30th June, it looks like!

4500 F on a BMW X5. Unusual combination, the 4x1, I thought.

I thought the regs only applied to the frontal area. Otherwise towbars would be outlawed hehe

I prefer a 1x4. Yes, D reverse was original issue

RMA 1 on a red Mercedes-Benz GLC spotted just now up here in sunny Cumbria.

AR 10 spotted minutes later on a black Tesla blob of some sort.

D, E, F, H, K, N, R, U and W - think some unissued ones have been sold since.

I thought as I wrote that, 'I should probably add 1x4 as well to be absolutely clear'... laugh

I also prefer a 1x4 but they appear very rare these days!

It would be cool to do a whole trawl of the DVLA database (via that PartialPlate search website) to work out how many there are in total left (or at least which are known to DVLA) and which letters are the rarest.

DVLA auctions seem to do a couple of 4x1s every time, seemingly without restriction on the letters and quite often with numbers that could be birth years, or with repeat numbers that 'look good' (for example).

IIRC we've had 4444 M and 1992 G on here recently?? (The M might have been one I spotted on CC auctions though... lol)
