Real Good Number Plates Vol. 6

That's not true though is it.? Most things were obviously cheaper 30 years ago.! but putting property aside there's not many worth considerably more today.? Which is the point the OP is making. This is a number plate forum and i find it interesting to read about the history and previously sold prices.
Of course it’s true. How about classic cars? Shares? Art? I too like plates and their history but posting hundreds of times about the price rises does get a bit boring. I don't often post on this thread, but when I do, I like when it gets picked up by someone (usually CRAIG in fairness) telling me the value /date purchased last!
Anyway... GRA1N on an 8 series at Birmingham airport on Thursday! Looked very neat.
14 EB also is local to me. I notice it as its my sisters birth date and initials so would be perfect.

Interesting enough GRA 1N is an original 1974/5 issued number. 14 EB was a DVLA Auction plate that Sold for £2900 + the bits in Aug 98.Anyway... GRA1N on an 8 series at Birmingham airport on Thursday! Looked very neat.

Now, I’d imagine any short ‘EB’ plates bought prior to the existence and popularity of the Bugatti Veyron (as in this case) have rocketed in price. Something you could never have foreseen as a buyer in the 90s. I obviously know Bugatti existed long before this but Bugatti have had a mini renaissance since the early 2000’s.When McLaren finally build a Prost as a follow up to the Senna I’m quids in
Although I’ve bought my children plates that basically spell out their names for myself I prefer plates that don’t really relate to me for some reason.
I’d love something like GRA 1N for instance, whereas I know people who are only interested in 2x2 with their initials etc.

So the 1x2 above was cheaper a year later? Now I'd imagine one is near £10k and the other more like £50k.
ETA didn't think of the Bugatti connotation. That said would someone with a £3m car stick such a poverty spec plate on?

Interesting, maybe the ‘EB’ link DID make a difference . I’d definitely be kicking myself if I’d bought a 2x2 back then and could have bought a 1x2!
Looking back none of these look daft money but i sopose taking the Bugatti connection away there not common initials.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
