I love the look of these but the price is an eye opener. A lot of money for a car that is perhaps only 5% better then the 1st model, however that’s because it was so good out of the gate.

No 3.0 straight six petrol. Every toy possible. Massage seats front and rear. My 18yr old daughter who has Downs Syndrome loved it in the reclined rear seats getting a massage. It was £145k and Ive told him to call me in about 4yrs when it’s £75k. I get on really well with him and he will remember. Sorry Yaris GR fans for the deviation.
If only the RR had Toyota reliability...

Thats pretty far from the truth.
I'm more than happy to take on board any constructive criticism that you might have just so long as you are willing to add some justifiable substance the statement above.

Today I was loaned a brand new full size Range Rover P550e in Belgravia Green with Caraway leather interior and headlining. You would love it Lee, 550 hp petrol with a battery and 90 miles electric range. 0-60 4.8 seconds. It was like that bread that’s apparently the best of both it was utterly fabulous. I did about 150 miles before I took it back. It’s now on 170. Doing the Lotto tonight.
That sounds like one hell of a car for sure Mike! smokin

I bet the interior in that is wonderful as well, and what a way to travel I reckon. thumbup

I presume that they have the BMW 4.4 V8 twin turbo engine in them do they?

Thanks for sharing the pics. thumbup

We can go back to taking the pee out of the GR Yaris's dash now I reckon! winkhehe

Children let’s move on and stick to talking about the cars, there’s only so many times we can go round in circles about whose dad is harder than the nexts.

If the language above is an accurate representation of who you really are then I'll happily live in the knowledge that I won't be respecting any of the requests that you demand.

I managed to bag one in the ballot so feeling thankful for that. I don’t really have the need for it at the minute (it was such a long time ago that I joined the list!), but think I’ll take it anyway to run for a couple of months to experience one and then move on before it loses any money. If it’s really good then my GR86 can go instead, but I like how basic and old-fashioned that is in a way the Yaris just won’t be.

I guarantee it’ll be in as-new condition, so if anyone would like it after me, get your spec request in now. hehe I’m thinking red and manual.

Another owner giving rear legroom feedback - it's much more than you expect imho and as said, headroom is only slight issue. I'm 6' and kids are 11 and 9, went to look at a gr86 and was useless, physically couldn't fit anyone with legs behind me. Tried GRY as there was one sitting next to it and we were all amazed how much more room there was inside.

Sorry to hear that, will you try again if/when more become available?

It's a common misconception that just because the GR Yaris is short, it has a short wheelbase.
Now if you look at the car properly, you can see this is far from the truth, wheel the axles/ wheels right at the extremities.
GR Yaris WB = 2560 mm original model
991 WB = 2450 mm ( despite being a longer car)
718 Cayman 2484mm

However the millenials who write a lot of these articles seem to lack automative knowledge so this doesn't surprise me.

Honestly would never have guessed about the wheel base being that long! Initial reaction was surely that can’t be right! I didn’t think you’d get all that stretched out in a Yaris! Looks can be deceptive I guess!

Any thoughts on the manual v automatic, had a Gen. 1 manual and deposit down on Gen. 2 but swayed between manual / automatic.

Never did favour an automatic until had no option on a BMW 330d as daily, wouldn’t go back to manual on the daily.

Will be looking to use the GR more and for longer trips, so automatic is tempting but limited info on how they perform / drive.

Hopefully option of a test drive but think the spec will have to be committed before any test drive, suppose worry is I spec the auto, don’t like it and only option is to cancel and not change to manual.

Now I have written the above I think it needs to be manual smile

You can’t have a deposit down if you haven’t picked what transmission.

You can, deposit paid (Friday) and final spec to be confirmed on call with Toyota, mail say call will be within 5 days, so expecting call this week.

I did complete the colour / transmission on paying deposit, but they way I read everything was this won’t be locked in until you confirm when invited to order after confirming payment v ballot result.

Below is mail from placing deposit after receiving mail saying being successful in ballot.

“PLACING YOUR ORDER
Within 5 working days we will verify via email if your request has been confirmed. If accepted, you will then be invited to order online”

So did you do this bit?

Didn’t realise that wasn’t confirmation of spec choice.

Yes, completed that part, my understanding spec is locked in after the call and placing the completed
order.
I hope I am correct as I am likely to change the colour and transmission wink
