We’re in Barcelona, a fast, downforce heavy track that should suit the RB20 down to the ground. Max won by 25 seconds last year, and it will be interesting to see how close McLaren and Ferrari get this time.

Mercedes has said lots of positive things about its new front wing, it will be a proper test in Spain. Perez needs a non-disastrous weekend.

Poll is for the win.

It must be the time of year- I’ve also got a big family party to host so no live race for me either.

Those grandstand prices are not miles away from package deal prices to Abu Dhabi or Singapore - that include your flights and hotel for three or four days! You can have an actual holiday for the price of admission to Silverstone, especially if you add camping or parking.
Wow- You must need your head examined to pay Silverstone’s prices

Sorry if already mentioned, but just looking at the results…

VCARB seem to be nowhere this weekend bringing up the rear just ahead of the two Williams. Did they have issues or is the car just not hooking up on this track?

And in contrast, both Alpines in the top 10. Wouldn’t have expected that a few races back. Maybe FB has sprinkled some magic powder somewhere…
VCARB has a big upgrade package on the car- my guess is that it's not doing what they expected. With the field so close, straight to the back of the grid.

I missed qualifying yesterday, as I was at Sywell airshow with my son- what a day! If you're near Northampton today, highly recommended.

Caught up with qualifying this evening- what a treat. Norris seems to have relaxed a little and the performances are now coming. With some weather around, anything could happen later.

I thought Leclerc needed stronger punishment for hitting Norris in P3- it was clearly deliberate.

Great to see that Merc finally appears to be on the right track. It could be a great season, and we weren't thinking that after Bahrain.

Russel put in fastest lap straight after putting on hards. The thought is he took too much out of them straight away
He doesn't seem to be amongst the very best at tyre preservation.
Russell is a very good driver but he doesn’t have any real in race strategy/management. Early in the race, after Max has passed him, Russell was asked about his pace… he basically said he was maximum attack. The Merc doesn’t have RedBull pace. He knows that but ruined his tyres chasing Max and and screwed his own race.
I think Russell said he was having to push harder than the others to keep the pace, rather than pushing 100%?

He did say that, but how would he know how hard the others were pushing ?
That is a very good question !
