We’re in Canada, one of my favourite circuits. It should be super close - it’s a fast street circuit, so expect McLaren and Ferrari to be right there with RBR. It could be a great race with actual overtaking.
My money is on a McLaren 1-2 (Piastri- -Norris)- so expect them to have a total disaster. Sorry Derek.
Poll is for the win.

I love the Canadian GP, which has had some classic races over the years. Particularly loved Jenson’s win in 2011 (I think) and of course Lewis’ first win.
Really interested to see whether things remain close between RB, Mc and Ferrari. I’m hopeful, but only time will tell. I do wonder whether we might actually get some cracking close racing over the next 18 months only for the new regs to hand the advantage back to one or team or another, as is often the case.

I'm looking forward to this race. The timing is always great for some kind of takeaway and a few beers whilst viewing.
+1 the Mrs is away this weekend so will be settling down to some beers and rubbish food to enjoy the race ![thumbup](/inc/images/thumbup.gif)
sadly I’m cycling 200 miles on Sunday, so will likely catch it from the sofa on Monday

What a race to have missed! Caught up this morning.
Takeaways from me-
Max and RBR can win even without the best car
Merc seem to have (finally) found the correct path
McLaren still a step behind operationally but the car looks bang on pace. Might win constructors title this year with 2 cars scoring well.
Sergeant has lost all confidence and needs replacing
Croft is still an arse- terrible commentary again.

How did the bike ride go?
Hi Paul- all good thanks. 200 miles in 11 hours. Legs ache a bit today but no drama.Highlight was the two pals who turned up unannounced to pace us for the middle bit- was emotional to see them!
Just.. stop it

As much as I would like to appear as super-human on PH, outdoor cycling is generally a lot easier than indoor- you have downhills for a start! Yesterday was also helped by riding in a group for some of it, which makes a BIG difference

It feels really good to push your body to see what you're capable of (before you're too old!)

Are we describing getting wheelspin and going sideways, while leaving the pit lane which is on the very outside line that is still very wet, with a faster car on warm tyres on the dry line inside you as "a mistake" ? Tough crowd.
Agree- the only person who made a mistake at that part of the race was Croft, who confidently predicted that Norris would keep the lead after pitting. Even my cat knew this to be b![](/inc/images/censored.gif)

Every driver made mistakes this weekend. The folks who singled out Russell for criticism for a couple of errors seem oblivious to that.
Yep- I thought Russell did very well to gather up the slide and avoid the wall- he had no time to get that under control. He did a great job and is generally starting to assume the No1 role from Lewis I think.TheDeuce said:
Do we really think RBR have lost pace due to a change to their car?
I tend to think it's just that Macca and now Merc have made some small but important updates that have unlocked a chunk more performance, combined perhaps with the RBR not loving the recent circuits.
Ferrari have always been fairly close to the RBR this season, providing the circuit suits them.
I'm not seeing the sort of drop off we saw with Ferrari in 2019 - although in fairness at that time I initially argued that they hadn't been cheating... the cheat seemed too big!
