Terrible performance in qualy yesterday. His much criticised team mate completely outpaced him.
Does he bring money?
How did he manage to come back to F1 when there seems to be so many other , better drivers out there?
I can't see him surviving to return next season. Or am I missing something?

As I understand it he is all but signed for next year.
For all the criticism of Di Resta he's done a better job this year in terms of points. IIRC Sutil was a bit wild at the start of the season tapping cars (including Di Resta?).
Sutil used to bring Medion money but I don't think he does any more.

Capri Sun, Medion and a stunning g/f are what he brings....I am not so sure there is much to choose in performance though between the two drivers, which may be why the team have confirmed just him.
I do wonder whether a driver with even a relatively small amount of funding might take a seat there? That would open it up to anyone from Massa to Magnussen.

Not arguing with you there but that is truly damning. Imagine being compared unfavourably with someone who is, at best, pretty mediocre?
I think thats a bit harsh, neither Paul or Adrian are mediocre from what I see. Argumentative and a bit dour at times, but not mediocre.Fwiw, in my di resta thread i didn't say he was crap, i said he has an inexcusible lack of respect for his team and employer, that is a risk when he's been on a performance drought like he has been.
To be fair, i think they're both midfield drivers destined to be placed in a midfield team - likely to get top 10, but unlikely to get a podium spot. There are faster drivers that crash more, but if 5th or6th place is where you aspire to be, they're both a solid bet...

I rate Sutil in the Heinz Harold Frentzen category, on his day in a decent car he'll bring in the odd storming performance but for the vast majority is just a consistent points scorer and generally brings solid performances, not outstanding but solid. IMO he'd be the perfect number 2 to Alonso at Ferrari.
