The Official F1 2027 silly season *contains speculation*

OK, continuing on my prior years for 2027...
I think this is correct based on some cross checking, happy to be corrected and will update
Of course contracts are bits of paper and have many exit clauses and protections for both sides.

Audi F1 (formerly Sauber)
Cadillac (Ferrari) New Team Entry
Ferrari (Ferrari)

Good thread, well done for all the research required.
It’s interesting that there do seem to be more drivers than usual with their contracts ending after this season, which is likely a factor of the new regulation set. If, as we saw in 2014, one PU manufacturer has a clear advantage, then there could be a big scramble for a few seats for 2027.
Are Audi still going with their own new PU?

I guess the end of the 26 into the 27 season could see some, or a few moves? Potential retirements (LH and FA come to mind?) and some of the drivers finishing contracts, and the potential for get out clauses could be a bit like dominos?
Or things could end up just the same, and we get very few moves

On the latest 'F1 Beyond the Grid' podcast Woolff said that Kimi was three to five years from F1 maturity.
So, Mercedes don't plan to drop him any time soon.
Agreed but Toto also seems to like keeping drivers on their toes - noting how late Georges contract was agreed this year…So, Mercedes don't plan to drop him any time soon.

Portugal to return to F1 calendar in 2027 and 2028 as replacement for Dutch GP at Zandvoort.
Portugal will return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2027 and 2028, it has been confirmed.
Portimão was previously on the F1 calendar during the 2020 and 2021 seasons amid reshuffles for Covid impacted years.
The Portuguese GP will replace the Dutch GP at Zandvoort, which has already been confirmed as dropping off the F1 calendar after 2026.

Easy to see Alonso and Hamilton calling it quits after 2026. Alonso is going to become a dad next year. Lewis is not gelling at Ferrari and has the money and star power to literally do anything.
I think in both cases it will depend heavily on factors outside of their control. I'm struggling to see Ferrari as anything other than a mid-field team next year, in which case I think there's a significant risk they lose both drivers for 2027. Leclerc is still fairly young but time is ticking away and Ferrari don't appear to be willing to make the cultural changes which are probably needed. I'd be amazed if he doesn't have an exit clause if Ferrari aren't title contenders. Without said cultural change, I can't see Hamilton ever being either happy or competitive there either. Regarding Alonso, I think there's a good chance that Stroll will get pushed out for 2027 if AM are genuinely competitive in 2026 (which it really should be unless Honda mess up badly) and if that happens they will really want to keep Alonso for at east one more year to maintain some form of continuity. Although if they could land Leclerc for 2027 they might be happier to let Alonso go.
Obviously this is hugely speculative but if AM are good in 2026, I could see Leclerc replacing Stroll at AM in 2027 and then Alonso leaving to be replaced by a promising rookie/young driver in 2028?

I think Alonso leaving and being replaced by Max is far more likely.

Portimao is fun but not exactly wide.
That said it is a race I'm booking to go to... plus some days in Lagos and Faro. Or maybe a road trip down from Lisbon. Lovely area, great food and people...
I went for the 2023 WEC race. Stayed in Olhao (having driven down from Lisbon) which was too far away from the circuit given getting in and out from the A22 took ages. That said it is a race I'm booking to go to... plus some days in Lagos and Faro.
