Which drivers do you lot think will be the next gen of big rivals in F1?

My money is on Isack Hadjar as a future champion with Ollie Bearman and/or Gabriel Bortoleto right up there with him. I can also see George there or thereabouts too - for a while at least - he's driven so well this season smile

If Adrian Newey makes the Aston Martin Honda a rocket ship for these new regulations and then get Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc for 2027.

They will definitely be the new Senna Vs Prost / Hamilton Vs Rosberg / Norris Vs Piastri.

They are the same age and have come up through the same series together, from karting and have had great races, battling each other.

They also race hard and fair against each other.

That's a good call, hadn't thought so much about the "old" drivers other than George. As long as Max is in F1 he'll be there or thereabouts. Charles is better than that Ferrari makes him look. I really like Lewis and he's still the GOAT, but I suspect his days in F1 are numbered.

Apart from Max, it’s difficult to see how genuine rivalries are going to emerge between the current generation of top drivers because they grew up together & they’re all good mates who sim race against each other, go cycling together & play Padel & golf together.

Leclerc & Gasly grew up together & are genuinely close.

Albon, Russell, Norris, Leclerc have all known one another since they were kids racing karts against each other. Alex was the ‘big brother’ of the group & Lando was the ‘little brother’.

Lando & Sainz are big golfing buddies, and Carlos is far too much of a gentleman to fall out with anyone.

Lewis and Nico also knew each other from when they were about 12, but the gloves came off when it was the two of them fighting hard for the championship. They barely spoke to each other for a handful of years afterwards, such was the pressure in ‘15 and ‘16.

While the younger drivers are all friendly with each other now, it will be very different if they’re up against each other for their lifetime ambition of the drivers’ championship.

Hard to gauge who will clash on a personal level while they will need a car capable of putting them in that fight.

Will Piastri throw his toys out the pram at some point? Him having a royal ding dong with Norris is certainly possible with them having the same equipment, also think he could get at the softer side of Norris.

2027 driver market should be interesting. I believe only Max, Norris and possibly Leclerc and Piastri have deals for 2027.

I do agree that if Max is still around in the next few years and if Leclerc and/or Russell have equal front running cars if will get some dynamite battles. Particularly Russell.

Early 2022 with Leclerc vs Verstappen that was some brilliant close racing.

Max is just maximising his earning potential right now, he will be off as soon as he wants to. He will not still be around in 3 or 4 years let alone 10
