Been toying with furnishing the new house with some Movie posters with loads of great suggestions, but am also considering another room with some classic F1 posters. Are there any particular favourites people have? I was thinking maybe a couple of pre-war ones, then 50's, 60's and 70's. The Monaco ones seem to be the most common, perhaps one per decade?

That’s an awesome idea, and one that I would never get past my wife in a month of Sundays!

Monaco definitely puts in more time and effort on official posters than anyone else, the favourite would be 1989 with the iconic Senna/McLaren/Marlboro livery, but the idea of one per decade is brilliant.

Half of me says to just look at the posters themselves and choose what you think are the best looking, while the other half of me says to go for those which ended up being classic races such as Brazil 2008.

Favourite film posters: Breakfast At Tiffany’s, Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting.

On a similar vein, until recently I had a number of Goodwood revival posters up on the wall in what was my then office (former kids play room) sadly all now gone when we knocked two rooms into a kitchen / family room..... wife's not keen of having them back up.

Some of the Festival of Speed posters looked good too at the time, the shop had a sale and were selling off stock I think it was 3 for £20, possible less.

In the least sadistic way possible, a poster of Alonso just losing out on the WDC and holding back the tears. Purely because it shows the passion and the emotions of a F1 driver.

2011 Canadian GP picture of the moment Button caught up with Vettel and put enough pressure on him to spin. Probably my all time favourite races and one of the few moments where I actually screamed in excitement while watching the F1.

Don't actually know if posters of these instances exist, but just images that have been ingrained into my head.

Hopefully this doesn't break any rules, but I ordered a Jordan cars poster on Etsy and was accidentally sent two. Seller didn't want it back, so if you or anyone wants it for the postage they can have it.

If you're near Brooklands the museum's shop is worth a visit. Last time I was there we got a couple, hopefully there's more than they show on the website.

That’s not a poster - it’s the original artwork and it’s 56” x 40”!

I've got a couple of le mans ones. My dad got me the le mans poster from the year I was born framed which was a nice touch. Really love that one. We also have copies of motorsport magazines from the months of our births but I've not framed that yet. You might be lucky with what is on your cover!

You could also consider a wooden art of the track outline. They seem to be very popular but I don't have one.

I've a big senna one Xmas I'm a bit of a fanboy. You could go by heroes rather than decades? Some of the Monaco ones look cool though.

Same theme but pre-war. One of my Alfredo de la Maria prints. I saw some of his originals at Retromobile years ago - luckily my wife liked them as well so one has actually been promoted to the lounge.

OP - I’m reluctant to tell you this as you will be addicted and you’re likely to spend serious money.

Google “Klemantaski Collection” and you will be transformed into a kid in a sweet shop for hours.

One of my favourites - Alberto Ascari, Monza, 1951 ( sorry, poor quality my end).

..and finally the one that started it all for me. Colin Waldeck’s study of NGH & BRM Monaco 1964.

A copy of this hangs in the National Portrait Gallery, and rightly so.

OK, help me out here, anorak time. Maybe B.N. has the answer.

Beau Rivage Monaco (obviously) and probably in 1965. That make sense as the practice sessions were wet that year.

I don't recognise the driver's helmet - but maybe it was a temporary loan with a "bubble" visor for the wet weather. If we're talking F1 (see below) car 17 was Bandini's Ferrari but it's definitely no Ferrari. Zoom in and the number could be 1T - test cars were allowed in those days and circulated with a T suffix after the race number. However car 1 was Jack Brabham and, again, that is no Brabham Climax.

I'm leaning towards an F3 car (lack of intake trumpets behind driver etc) - they ran that year but the race numbers started at 30.

Maurice Trintignant ran a Lola Climax #17 a year or two earlier but with one of those Monaco snub noses, so not him.

Incredibly unimportant I know but any thoughts ?

Automobilist have some stunning stuff, computer generated art but really nicely done IMO and good quality. I recently bought the Duel In The Desert (Hamilton v Rosberg at Bahrain 2014), for older stuff they have the likes of Senna and Hunt.
