I think i'm with a lot of people when it comes to the falling standards of Autosport and the 'Fanboy' approach to reporting on F1 and pretty much nothing else. I've subscribed to Autosport for well over 25 years and bought the magazine for many years before that and was even mentioned in it when getting a couple of 3rd places in the Caterham Acadamy back in 2000.

I'm now getting to the point where I'm going to make a choice between The Race and Autosport. The Race seems to have some of the old school Autosport reporters writing for them, which interests me. They seem to be more technical in their writing and aimed not so much for the younger fan image Autosport is going down.

Have any of you moved from Autosport to The Race and which one do you think is the best?

I only tend to scan the headlines on Autosport these days. They've gone a bit clickbaity in recent years since they became part of the motorsport.com network.

The-Race is the only one worth reading the articles, usually to get the insight of Mark Hughes and Gary Anderson.

The Race is better written but both are guilty of repetitive clickbaitery.

The only thing that lets the race down is the appalling levels of ads in the articles - it’s worse than a reach media local rag.

I don’t read the articles much unless something really interests me but I do listen to the podcasts.

The 3 at RACE used to be at Autosport and it worked. Once they left AT went down hill but I don’t think RACE is quite there yet. Lose lose in my view, for both of them.

I think The Race is superb. Great podcast, and the contributions from Mark Hughes are gold dust.

yeah, I agree - Mark clearly knows his stuff. I prefer The Race over Autosport and have done for some time.

The Race is, for me, hands down better than Autosport. Although Scott Mitchell-Malm's fondness for the words 'egregious' and 'capricious' does grate a little.

The Race has been my go to for a few years. I stopped my Autosport subscription when they grew more and more entwined in the Motorsport.com empire.

I do dislike the ads, they should be blocked for paid up subscribers. But the quality of race reports are 2nd to none.

Mark Hughes, Jon Noble, Ed Straw, all good journos and their podcasts are great listening.

Add on the Moto GP reporting makes it even better value for me. I haven't found a website which beats it. Crash.net is pretty ste and even more click baity.

I cannot stand the guy's whiny voice. It's how I imagine keyboard warriors sound like with a pitched voice (I have a deep voice BTW).

Not necessarily on a phone/using the race app.

Is Autosport even still going, was a time when they had good people who wrote good things, not any more.

Autosport is a long way from its halcyon days, when it would cover all kinds of 4 wheeled motorsport; and you'd just as likely to see a Touring car, Sportscar, or rallycar on the cover as the now obligatory F1 story. As well as excellent writing, technical analysis, etc

It's sadly, become far too obsessed with F1, to the detriment of the other series. I recall a time when there would be special supplements for notable big events; F1 preview, BRC preview, BTCC preview, Le Mans preview, British GP preview, RAC Rally preview, F1 season review.

The club/ national racing sections have taken a hit and they decided they need to cover MotoGP; (but no other 2 wheeled series).

The Race predictably started with F1, MotoGP, but also Formula E, Indycar and E-Sports, but no WRC, or WEC. They've finally started to cover WEC, but still nothing on WRC.......
