Midweek motorsport from the radio Le Mans team.

Either listen live on the website on a Wednesday night (as the name suggests) or listen as a podcast on Thursday as I do smile

Covers all sorts of motorsport with a leaning towards endurance racing and F1 (hooray)

Peter Windsor on YouTube is a nice recap after each day. Very much no frills but Peter has been around / involved in / documenting the sport for over 50 years, and his insights on driving styles are enjoyable.

Yes, Peter Windsor and Joe Saward are to me the most trusted sources of F1 news. They’ve both been around the paddock for decades and know absolutely everyone.

My favourite racing podcasts are:

The Race
Bring Back V10s
James Allen on F1

And, best of all:

And Collosally, that's History.

I also recently discovered Pitlane Life Lessons with Mark Priestly.

Jake Humpreys "high performance" has had many f1 related guests. Generally pretty good. Only downside is Humpreys is like a humanoid version of "linkedin"

I'm sure I read somewhere that JH genuinely had a sit down appraisal with his own wife at Christmas to discuss their year and future goals ffs! hehe

I'm currently 2/3rds of the way through the Claire Williams interview (i listen to them in the car)

My impression so far is that she adored the team. And she put absolutely everything she had in to it when she was in charge. But it sadly wasn't enough. And she sounds like it utterly burnt her out! If I heard correctly, she's only been to Miami last year since she left the TP role in late 2020ish. And its not clear if she watches the races religiously anymore. Though it was funny to hear that her own son is a McLaren fan after he got a lego version

Can't stomach "high performance" for long. Will listen only if it's someone I really want to hear. Like Clair Williams for example. But I can't stand Jake and his mates breathy, almost faux-intellectual speak. Just have a normal conversation like a normal person.

Then it's full of ad reads for known garbage like AG1 and better help. If you want to sound clever, don't undermine yourself by pedalling st.

FFS is good. Although always feel it's too short. They're busy people though.

I must mention Shift-F1 podcast. It's more US-centric but one of the hosts is Irish, I believe they're all from the world of video games and gaming media but they all love F1 and usually have easy listening, humourous takes on the races.

No one listening to P1 with Matt & Tommy?

Less serious than other podcasts perhaps, but reasonably in depth, knowledgeable, entertaining and well balanced.

Chris Harris and Friends podcast. Not so far up the FIA / Liberty Media's fundament that they can't say what they think but also features a couple of ex racers and a well connected with the sport film maker. Just don't do a shot every time the later mentions Bernie or Senna...

I have listened to them for years now.

First as WTF1 with Jess McFadyen (who went to Autosport and now is at Sky Sports F1) then Katy Fairman before they went became a solo duo as P1.

Good if you want something a bit light hearted.

Likewise. Good fun.

I also liked the one that Coulthard was on, but seemed to be sporadic in regard to race reviews so gave up in the end.

50:50 on this one. Often entertaining, but man they churn out a lot of dross. And I don't think they are particularly insightful. But it is light-hearted and it's nice to have a less earnest option.

Dirty Air is my favourite so far. I did enjoy the DC and EJ pod, wonder what DC will do with it now.

Yes there are some things that are filler, the new additions of family predictions (and the predictions thing as a whole I guess) is a bit meh but they seem like nice guys, albeit fans and not insiders.
