Is off to Indy it seems.

Can't say I'll miss his bland takes and gawping pseudo-hippy mic faffing.

Perhaps we'll get someone who knows something about Formula One.

If Buxton moving on to Indycar means that F1TV gets to see more of the likes of Ruth Buscome and James Hinchcliffe, then count me in.

That said, he was one of the better ‘presenter’ types, so if they replace him with some other inanity I’ll be screaming to bring him back by about three races into the season.

Good luck WIll with the Indycar job, it will be interesting to see how a mostly American audience takes to a British guy heading up the presentation. Hope he’s spend the winter practicing his Americanisms of cautions, pace car, pit road, sticker tires, green white checker, using the tools, drafting, and no doubt a few more.

AS do most of these people thinks they are far more important and bigger than they are, fair play to him no doubt paid a fortune to go there, and probably means Diffey is going NASCAR.

Much as the Sky F1 guys voice is like water down a drain it is quite nice to not have ads and have continuous coverage!!

Really? How did he extract himself from F1's asshole?

He is so far up there I assumed he was lost forever.

I guess he's off to Indy as a replacement for Leigh Diffey who's off to NASCAR.

Diffey is contracted NBC commentator and commentates on other sports like the Olympics. He switched to NASCAR last summer (was an instant hit with the fans; has commentated on NASCAR before) and never went back to Indycar. Kevin Lee did the final races as he's a freelancer.

We won't see more of Hinch than we do already, he's going to be commentating Indycar together with Will and Townsend Bell. I think the F1TV team will become even worse without Will.

Laura, Ruth, Jolyon, Alex, Rosanna (haven't seen her for a while?), Hinch, Sam...

They're a great team.

Lawrence is the wettest, sycophantic, softball interviewer though.

Sam is an absolute star (if I lived in his ward then he'd get my vote) and Laura is very good at keeping the others in check. I like Alex, but just can't stand his F1 commentary for some reason that I can't quite place. I think he's fine on F1 esports though. Go figure confused

I agree about Lawrence. Again, he seems like a decent chap but is always very careful not to overstep the Liberty Media company line; I don't think I've ever heard a controversial remark from him.

I think Will Buxton, Townsend Bell and James Hinchcliffe would be a good combo.

This!

But also I guess he's the old guard, who they seem quite happy to have shuffle off and be replaced by new blood. Specifically new blood that has never worked as a pundit in the sport prior to Liberty taking over.

Brundle is the only one that's probably got the gig until the day he pops his clogs, or gets close to it.
