This is turning into a fantastic season, and Mexico was another great race. Could Norris have won without losing 10 seconds behind Verstappen? I think so, the McLaren just flies on harder tyres.

This weekend should be another excellent race to round off the triple header. Norris went well here last year, so I’m sticking with a Norris/Leclerc/Sainz podium. Verstappen seems certain to win the WDC now unless he has a DNF, but the WCC will be tight between McLaren and Ferrari.

Remember it’s a Sprint Weekend.

Here’s to a great race.

Thanks for the thread as always. They really are useful.

I like Brazil, it seems to lend itself to decent races.

Let's hope it's a good one.

Oooh, 22:00 on air? I might actually stay up for these highlights!

Thanks, PiaP. I do like Brazil. Here’s hoping for some rain! biggrin

If the reports are correct that Verstappen will be taking an engine penalty here, I think he's likely to struggle to get past 7th unless one of the other top six has a really bad race (or Mercedes implode). I think the Mclaren will be the fastest car again, at least on race pace; the question is whether they find another way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Think your timings between on air and our time is a little off Piap!

Going for Norris for the race win here, and Leclerc for the sprint!

Max will score a haul here, I would think, further making it seem impossible for Lando. (read he may take a new engine? does the penalty apply to GP grid or Sprint grid start?)

I don't wish a DNF on max for the sake of Lando winning, but it really WOULD spice up the last few races and reel us in!

Agree, a new engine and Max is looking at 7th place at best, but that’s all he needs.

If he finishes 7th and Norris wins, that's a 19 point swing. That makes his lead look a lot less comfortable!

It's still very much Max's to lose though.

True- but only 3 rounds left after this. Most of all I'm excited for 2025, which could be a classic if the cars are this close from the off. Imagine if Max hadn't won the first 4 of the first 5 GPs this year!

I think this is going to be an absolute dog fight for the top 10.

Will be interesting to see how hard they race eachother in the sprint too.

Wonder if HAAS will maintain their form and do well again?

I guess some of it will also come down to whether the stewards behave more like CotA or Mexico. If the former, Mclaren will have to find a way to keep Norris and Verstappen apart, because otherwise Verstappen will just repeatedly drive Norris off the track.

I think I'm going to watch the C4 highlights for this since they're on before the race.

Make or break time for Norris now, he really needs to win both the Sprint and main race, with Max at least outside the top 6. Hopefully Piastri will turn up in qualifying this weekend, and both Mercs have a good show.

Thanks PiaP. Let's hope for as competitive GP as Mexico. And wouldn't it be pleasant if the major talking point was not MV's dirty tactics, but a great performance by a driver. (Hopefully in a McLaren.)

Thanks PiaP.

Think Ferrari will get a hat trick of wins.

The Lando/Max theatrics will continue. Then Zak will visit the favellas whilst Horner takes a whiteboard into the media scrum to argue track limits.

That would be unusual as that would be Ferrari not messing up for three whole races.

Like that's going to happen.

Thanks PiaP!!

Following on from Mexico and voting for Perez, I am voting for Max...

I enjoy Brazil usually, but as with Derek, I trust we are spared any divisive tactics and witness a great race!

Charles thought he was in with a good chance of winning last year wink

A new engine for MV could make things interesting, if only that there could be quite a few cars in between him and Norris at the start that he’ll need to clear quickly. Given that he once managed to trip over a back marker at this place, and there’s a few drivers who are fed up with his piss-taking at the moment…
