I suppose it's just the latest incident regarding her performance. I noted the 'finally' in the headline, but its inclusion wasn't explained in the text.

I'm not happy with the FIA censoring comments of independent broadcasters, but I might make an exception for her. Has she been warned for her previous conduct? Did she say anything unusual (for her) at the USA GP? Or is it the lizard people out to get her?

Boggles my mind that people actually read let alone believe this sort of garbage.

I have seen the multitude of headlines with her basically being cancelled due to her tin hatness, I often wondered what its all about but put it down to the usual fake news. Good to see her at Austin.

Yeah, I can't be bothered to try and find out what she's supposed to have said. Does anyone actually know, or are they just repeating some vague clickbait headlines?

Quite like her input as a pundit, hope to see her continuing in the role.

I've seen nurerours articles about her being "cancelled" in social media type headlines. I'm glad it all turned out to be rubbish.

What an odd story to make up though.

I don't know the NY Times. Is it the equivalent to Daily Mail.

I don't mind Danica, yes she can talk rubbish, but equally she makes some good points. But then I like Villeneuve too, mostly for the 'I wonder what he'll come out with next' element, Danica is similar. Would I want her at every race, not really, but I don't have a problem when she does pop up. Oh and the fact that she seems to get under Jenson's skin is fun to watch.

I think a lot of the problem people seem to have with her is.
1. She's a woman in a male dominated sport
2. She's American so how would she know more than us knowledgeable Europeans
3. She's never driven in a Grand Prix, no but she's raced a hell of a lot more successfully than most of those commenting on her ever will.

I think she has improved considerably.
In the early days, it was clear that she didn’t fully understand F1, but she has grown into the role.
Like her as an occasional pundit, and appropriate for the races on the American continent.

Even if you thought it was the article saying that the FIA was penalising her for breaking Sky Sports rules should have made it abundantly clear silly

"The FIA’s ruling indicates that such comments violate their standards for conduct, particularly when discussing fellow competitors."

She isn't though she is retired, so she can say what she wants.

What a load of bks rolleyes

There actually is a kind of related 'actual' story, she recently took quite a bit of flack for her support of Trump and some political things she said. This started a couple of months back and I think she made a statement that she had over-shared and was going to take a small break from the media.

It now appears that she's back full force and has decided it's her vote, her right to promote her views etc. Which, ultimately, it is of course. Fairly recent history regarding Trumps popularity suggests approx half of her country folk feel the same way, so she's not some lone loony. I certainly don't feel that way, I can't stand Trump... However, she mustn't be demonised for her views.

And the article Derek linked to is very clearly only in existence to demonise her, no doubt at the whim of a party or government that isn't at all pro-Trump. This is modern age global political warfare - she speaks out in powerful support a guy much of the world doesn't want back in office, and somewhere in the world a machine is activated to spam a load of derogatory BS posts and articles about her, to obfuscate her original message. I note that in the instance of this article, it's suggested she made comments that upset LH = subtext that she's a damaging racist, playing upon the stereotype that all Trump supporters are racist. If you look at her own comments, her support of trump is based on some other stuff I also don't really agree with personally, but nothing evil at all: https://x.com/DanicaPatrick/status/184950806651075...

People are going to have to learn how to read if they don't want to be duped or look like pillocks. And by 'read properly', I mean; don't repeat or form an opinion on anything you read until you have satisfactorily made sense of why what you have read might be in existence in the first place.

No offence intended to you Derek, you're clearly of strong character and were simply caught off guard by a particularly insidious attempt at changing peoples views.

I’m afraid your link is not The NY Times.

https://www.nytimes.com/ is the real website, https://nytimesnews.us/ is just someone’s blog of what look like made up stories in several different languages.

The reason everyone’s having a go at Danica this week, is that after a lifetime of avoiding politics she just turned up to speak at a Donald Trump rally 10 days before the US election. https://x.com/charliekirk11/status/184920135153790...

Danica was forthright in semi-attacking Max' cynical block-carry-off of Norris, so that will do for me. Outside of her F1 duties, just like anyone else, she can do what she wants as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.

Supporting Dumpf is worrying though biggrin
