I see that Roebuck has written his last Fifth Column in Autosport. Does anyone know if he is moving to a different Magazine or has he stepped back, there does seem to have been less articles from him over the last while.

I just hope he isn't stepping down due to illness, bloody good journalist IMO.

I think he was unwell with a heart condition a couple of years ago. Perhaps that could be behind it. He will be missed. Great journalist and didn’t pull his punches.

With the amount of win he drinks I am amazed he has lasted this long!

Monthly column in F1 racing magazine plus occasional Autosport contributions, apparently: https://twitter.com/autosport/status/1076794301231...

That's good news indeed. Looks like I might be buying F1 mag again if Roebuck's articles don't show up on Autosport.com regularly.

Always enjoyed Roebuck as he writes so well, and the near fifty years he has spent in and around the sport gives him a perspective and insight which some of the more breathless young eporters lack, Granted , NSR loves to retell his favorite stories a little too often , especially when they are about Saint Gilles or Saint Mario and I do wish he'd have kept his reactionary dinosaur politics out of his writing.

Wish he'd return to Motor Sport - Mark Hughes obviously knows his stuff but he can wear his learning a little heavily ..

Who will write about Gilles Villeneuve now?
