Triple crown. Is the F1 part a Monaco win or a WDC?
Discussion
Only Graham Hill has done it, irrespective of whether it's Monaco or the Championship. And if Alonso does it the same will apply, so it's pretty much a moot point.
Anyhow, Monaco is more about the glamour than the racing. I'd prefer Monza, Silverstone, old Spa or Nurburgring. Jim Clark never won at Monaco, something he despaired of despite being a four-time winner at Spa...

Unless Montoya wins Le Mans some time.He was taking part for the first time this year albeit in LMP2. He won at Monaco in 2003 and has 2 Indy 500 victories (2000 and 2015).
I don't think it's that big a deal. Graham Hill never set out to win all three, it just happened as he was naturally racing in multiple disciplines, as they all did back then. Even if Alonso achieves it, and anything else he does in addition, he'll never match what John Surtees achieved.

I think its a bigger deal these days looking at amount of competition out there (this years LMP excluded) - even getting a seat in team that get you on the podium at these 3 events sets you well apart from the rest of the field you are racing against. The triple crown was always F1 championship, Indy 500 and Le Mans in the 50 years I've been watching the sport, or at least it was until Alonso -uniquely - realised that motor sport was a broader church than Formula 1 . I have only heard the Monaco component recently - the popular press seem to have seized upon it , much as they do with asinine GOAT listings . And we all know that Giancarlo Baghetti would have cleaned up every list had he just retired after his first win ...

Just to cover all bases then, he should try to become WEC and Indycar series champion, as well as winning the individual races.
He’s on his way to the WEC title as things are at the moment. And I don't see why if the fire is there he could not do the lot.
Personally i have always seen it as the triple crown of WDC, Le Mans and Indy.
At the risk of sounding a bit cockish Monaco is such a lottery that anyone could win it some years. Just ask Mr Panis.

World Champions who never won at Monaco but who won at Indy or Le Mans: Jim Clark, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jacques Villeneuve, Mike Hawthorn and Phil Hill. Not too shabby.

Well, I couldn't win it and I suspect neither could you . Just like Jean Pierre Beltoise did in theBRM in 72 Panis beat everyone else on the day. There's no shouldas couldas wouldas - any Grand Prix win is deserved . And I don't see why if the fire is there he could not do the lot.

Pop over to Autosport TNF where this is also being discussed by those who first came up with the term and it is quite clearly WDC, Le Mans and Indy 500.
Monaco was never part of it

Makes absolutely no sense to be that combination. When Graham Hill did it was clear that it was for the three races.Monaco was never part of it
