Do we really want this?
Discussion
I watched the press conference last night with Verstappen.
Maybe I am too old but I do not think a driver saying he will headbutt someone is acceptable.
This is not a football hooligan but an F1 driver. I expect better. Is this really how long the sport has gone?

If he doesn't want people asking him questions he doesn't like about crashing - he needs to stop driving into the furniture/other drivers.
That's just the comment of a stroppy arse with a bit of a munk on.
Whether he likes it or not - his world is funded by sponsorship - and the media is where sponsors get their coverage. Drivers sometimes forget that the press is an important cog in the machine.

Managing the press is just another skill a well rounded F1 driver needs. Lewis, Seb, Nando, (even Kimi with his own way) have a good way of dealing with them, managing the questions and giving diplomatic responses.
Max is still not a well rounded F1 driver. It's just another skill he needs to learn, which he obviously does not have yet.
And IMO, it's completely unacceptable in this day and age for someone in the public eye, who people look up to, to be suggesting acts of violence. Not cool, and does nothing to shake the image he has gained from his father.

Exactly. Red Bull gives you wings, which gets you high enough to headbutt someone.....................I just don't think thuggery is acceptable nor that kind of attitude.

Two little letters make so much difference Maybe I am too old but I do think a driver saying he will headbutt someone is acceptable.

I feel sure you meant un..........
I was a wker at his age, and not a F1 driver with all that comes with it!
It must be tough to keep his feet on the ground really.
They can't win - if he had said something like
"yeah whatever I like crashing" as a joke they'd have twisted it
I'd have probably said something like
"I'm one of the best drivers in the world, racing very high speed and pushing limits, so sometimes I will crash"
"you're a fat journalist who can't drive for st - so fk off"
Point of note: my media training as been limited.

Or he could have said: "We all know the Red Bull isn't the fastest car out there at the moment, so I have to push it that little bit harder, take more risks perhaps. I want to win and driving slowly, not trying to beat the other guys, isn't the way to do that. 4th 5th 6th, they come with points, but the glory is for First so I will always try for that."It must be tough to keep his feet on the ground really.
