I will be going with a group of 4 friends to the 2019 Monaco GP. Regarding tickets, does anyone have any experience of buying them from touts on the day? I have heard from various people that there are quite a few touts and if you leave it an hour before the start, prices are reasonable. Am I risking it too much or does anyone have experience of this?

If I happened to be in the area at the right time, but couldn’t guarantee attendance then I might chance it this way. Maybe if I was on my own.

Pretty much all viewing is in the stands so a group might not get seats together with the tout approach or all the group get tickets.

As this is the reason for the trip and planned well in advance, I’d personally want to know my tickets are 100%, bought in advance, and sat in the place I wanted to watch with the people I was going with.

A colleague went this year. He had Thursday tickets and was undecided about buying tickets for the Sat/Sun.

He loved the Thursday and wanted to watch the race, but his gf wasn't as keen. He did say though that there were lots of restaurants/bars offering track side viewing for 250-300 euros which is significantly cheaper than grandstand seats (although not offering quite the same view)
