We've stayed in Lively a couple of years now, you're led to your pitch and they fill it up from the front. I.e. the earlier you get there, the closer you are to the track/entertainment. It's definitely worth getting there as early as you can, we're going on Wednesday this year despite being in the live in vehicle section.

Hope this helps

We have 3 day tickets - Will it make much difference in turning up Thursday evening or Friday morning?

If you can get there Thursday I'd go for that to avoid the queues to get into the site on Friday morning.

I answered your question above? They fill the campsite up in order of arrival - you're led to a pitch that is allocated to you at that time. The earlier you get there, the closer to the entertainment and the circuit you'll be.

I'm torn now between wanting a better pitch and not wanting to spend an extra night camping. The campsite isn't that big surely? 5000? 10,000?

How much fun is Thursday night, seriously? Having not camped at a formula 1 before I've got visions of the entertainment being MOR radio1 esque dodge attended by a bunch of middle aged men who're having their one weekend off-the-lease and over doing it.

What about the Sunday night?

Sorry for anyone offendedlaugh

Funny you should say that, there is actually a dad dancing competition http://silverstonewoodlands.co.uk/2018/04/09/dad-d...woohoo

There's comedy on on Wednesday/Thursday nights - Thursday line up here - http://silverstonewoodlands.co.uk/2018/03/09/comed...

and of course, there's the Petrol Head which serves decent real ales for normal prices if that's your bag. So, plenty to do if you get there early. As I said, we'll be there for 10am on Wednesday to get set up and make the most of the weekend.

As an aside, we bought tickets in Vale but I just won a pair of tickets from Mercedes for Stowe including access to their 'pop up event' in the F1 village. Does anyone know what that is? Free swag or just an opportunity for them to try and sell you a car?

I went with mates in 2014 and it was great fun. Really good atmosphere. Parked together with tents in the same row. Recommended.

The campsite s massive and it can be a fair old walk to the track. It can easily be a good 25/30 minute walk to the track entertainment.

Get their as early as you can.
