engines that sound like vacuum cleaners,
model athletes rather than the Piques or Hunts or Laudas- so much we needed to get used to but now
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/42890261- I wonder if the sport is truly dead?
Who wants to employ a jobless Grid Girl???

Ultimately I look at grid girls and think "this is a bad thing to aspire to, for young women". It's not the 1970s any more.
I imagine you'll get the full gamut of opinions on PH.

Do we ban 'pop' music videos then?Ultimately I look at grid girls and think "this is a bad thing to aspire to, for young women". It's not the 1970s any more.

I don’t need to see grid girls; they bring nothing to the equation for me; or many.
Nail on the head for me. Do they really appeal to that many people? I'd rather they somehow involved aspiring young karters or something like that, get them involved in the event to really inspire them. The look on some of the kids who lead teams out at football matches is priceless, they'll no doubt remember that forever.
They have fixed something that no one really considered broken. My understanding is that the grid girls form a purpose which is to highlight to a driver where their grid spot is, although that job could be done by anyone. In many cases the grid girls are dressed in national costume which is nice to see the national dress. However its unclear what they add to the tv viewer experience as we don't see them. Its the girls who appear at the end of the race on the route to the podium who are really surplus to requirements although I appreciate they are the same girls.
In the meantime the cost of the engines, the distribution of money, the move to pay per view etc is not changed

They will soon make half the grid female for equality purposes. Won't matter how good a driver they are as long they aren't all 100% nasty men!
Hey you sexist swine, why do you hate women SO MUCH?(for the avoidance of doubt that's not a joke - I genuinely think you are wildly over-reacting)

I agree with/about "where has this world come to???"
However, if the fastest car is 'on' pole, then that is unfair on the slower cars.
They should all start from pole.
There should not be a podium celebration after the race either. Have it half way through the race, then let the 3 drivers catch up again.
The grid girls should all be smoking. And wearing clothes made of asbestos.

Where did you get your vacuum cleaner from, I’d love one that sounds like an F1 car?cramorra said:

So you’d prefer the drivers to be a bit less fit and perhaps smoke more? Or you’d prefer to look at Piquet or Lauda? cramorra said:

Yes it’s a shame that attractive young women have no skills other than standing about looking pretty isn’t it Chrisgr31 said:

You may not have heard but they’re down to 3 engines for next season in a supposed effort to reduce costs, it inevitably will reduce cost after the initial development cost is paid for- but more significantly F1 is eyeing a more significant change for 2021 which is under heated discussion. Likewise the distribution of money has already changed and further changes are under negotiation. By ‘the move to pay-per-view’ I presume you mean the launch of the new on demand platform which will enable people all over the world to access F1 as-and-when without subscription? More information and data than ever will be available, and much more widely than ever before. Formula 1 is finally moving into the 21st century and utilising the internet where Ecclestone ignored it. My concern is that if the powers-that-be decide something's offensive and ban it, then the next most offensive thing becomes the most offensive thing, and that gets banned next. Repeat ad infinitum until, in a few hundred years, we're all confined in solitude to small, grey, dimly lit padded cells, lest our fragile minds might be corrupted by one of our five senses detecting anything remotely stimulating.

Crazy.
I might delete the picture as I got into trouble posting a picture of a thong as I thought it looked like the "halo"
