435 Overtakes in 2017
Discussion
Someone at Pirelli has done some maths about the past season's passes using their own parameters to determine an overtake.
During the 20 races there were 435 overtakes which is 21.8 per race. Ricciardo tallied the most with 43 during the year, including 13 at Silverstone.
Unfortunately these numbers don't compare too favourably with last year which saw 866 overtakes in the 21 rounds despite the laptimes being 2.968 seconds faster.

But the quality of overtakes was far higher.
I thought the FIA had taken the wrong path with the changed regs for 2017, but I was proven completely wrong. The new cars are much more interesting to watch, and I'd so much rather watch one hard-fought overtake than 100 due to tyre degradation.
