...he had been driving the 2017 Ferrari?

Hypothetically of course so let's assume he's swapped seats with Raikonnensmile

(I was just reading a trashy article which said Marriciono(sp? The Ferrari boss) said Vettel had to shoulder a lot of the blame this year.)

Not if Vettel was his team mate as they would have taken points off each other and Alonso would have won in the Merc smile

If Hamilton was No 1 at Ferrari, yes I think he would have won it for them.

Note: Hamilton leaving for Ferrari opened the door for Fred at Merc smile

Would Ferrari be as accommodating as Mercedes in terms of his time off etc?

It’s one thing looking at him jumping into another car, but another team with a completely different culture?

Hamilton (and the team) have put the ‘next level’ he has found down to how content he is and his time away from F1 pursuing bother interests. Mercedes took a big risk allowing that but it’s paid off.

If they had the same unreliability as they had with Vettel and Raikkonen then no. Whoever was fast and in the Mercedes, probably Vettel or Alonso would now be champion

Yet other sources have only recently reported both James Alison and Valtteri Bottas saying they were shocked to find just how hard Lewis actually works and how he dedicates himself to winning.

I think the pictures on Instagram are just that. They tell you very little of where he is. But like your holidays snaps, they are likely to be his public record of where he has been, not how long he was actually there, who he was really with, or what he did in private.

I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. He can work damn hard at F1 and still pursue other things. Arguably if you’re working that hard at your main job having a release away from that is super important.

That’s why I don’t think he ever fit at McLaren under Ron Dennis, but seems to have found a perfect partnership with Mercedes (particularly Toto).

I think he would have stood a good chance. I don't think he'd have made the same mistake in Singapore which seems to have been the beginning of the end for Vettels season. The question was promoted by Ferrari highlighting the mistakes Vettel made throughout the year.

there have been 2-3 occasions this year where hamilton has beaten the ferrari even though it was the faster can that weekend/day. I don't think I can think of a time vettel has done that this year. If you accept that hamilton is better/less clumsy wheel-to-wheel than vettel (i.e. he wouldn't have had the issue in Singapore, or been such a dick in baku), then you'd have to say that hamilton would have been able to beat the mercedes in the ferrari.

No because he would have had to give the place to vettel in every race.

No doubt no1 status is in Vettels contract he seems like he needs it tbh.

Considering what Bottas recently said regarding him working far harder than he thought he did and also spends a lot of time visiting the factory to talk to people there this time off nonsense seems just that. Most people get days off work, very few work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day

Would Anyone have won in a Ferrari more like?
Of the last 77 Grand Prix Mercedes have won 62 of them. A level of domination not seen even by Red Bull with Seb or Ferrari with Michael. Lewis wasn`t doing this with McLaren was he. Give Mercedes their due, Lewis may be on top of his game surly even he would not swop for a prancing horse. It would be great to see some competition between the Merc drivers though. Nico knew he was beaten before he started, Lewis had his number from their Karting days and Bottas looks like the number two all top drivers prefer to have.

What a load of nonsense! In their 3 seasons together, Rosberg was ahead throughout the vast majority of 2014 until Hamilton took it at the end. In 2015 Hamilton won, fair enough. And in 2016 Rosberg won. In what way did Nico know he was beaten before he started?

Just possibly something to do with having his arse handed to him on a plate since they both wore short trousers ?.

I would say yes.

Vettel has been a bit of a liability this year with his strops and poor driving.

I would say no.

Hamilton is another Senna. He can win, but only when he's in the best car.

Hamilton would have won the WDC in the Ferrari by the Brazilian gp this weekend.
He's the only driver since senna that I could confidently say that.

As opposed to all those champions that won in the worst cars. Right.

Ironic, since he's just stacked it in quali.

No. The errors that have happened to vetel and the unreliability could have happened to him. The car wasn’t good enough for long enough to win the WDC for anyone.
