Anyone done Barça winter testing?
Discussion
Looking for hints and tips really, I'm planning a treat for the old man and the dates have unofficially been announced this week (apparently).
I know Barça very well but obviously the circuit isn't really in the city centre so I'm thinking about how to get there, how many days to spend at the circuit, what to do when we're there etc.
I like the sound of the hospitality packages and I know he would love to get up close to the cars and if possible, the drivers-I'm hoping it'll be like visiting an F1 paddock in years gone past when access to the great unwashed was allowed.
Thanks in advance

I have been a few times, always done easy jet, hire a car, stay in Mollet del Valles spent all 4 days there I know Barça very well but obviously the circuit isn't really in the city centre so I'm thinking about how to get there, how many days to spend at the circuit, what to do when we're there etc.

Have done a RedBull day, cost a lot but the only way to get to the paddock.
It you book a day in the hospitably rooms over the pits, you only get access to the roof and the first floor, you don't get let to the paddock area.

Yes from what I've read Red Bull do the best access. Interesting you stayed out at the circuit, care to advise why?
(we may only do one day at the circuit but do two days in Barçelona)
Only that I went for the testing and nothing else. 9 till 6 every day is fantastic if you like that sort of thing, as they vary things everyday on who is driving etc.(we may only do one day at the circuit but do two days in Barçelona)
you can star in Barca and get the train there easily i think.
It all depends what you want to do and see.
Yes if you do the Redbull thing yes do it one day, but as you will pay £600 odd quid for it you will not see any track activity as yo won't want to leave the paddock, you would want to do another day to watch the cars on track.

We've done lots of other GP so seeing cars on track isn't that important, I'd hope that this would be something different-think that would be the case?
Yes it would be, i have met most of the sky team, Niki, Horner, a few of the other drivers, it is a fantastic place to be. Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
