Last year was my first time going and enjoyed it so much I booked this year as soon as it was on sale!
We are camping with CampingF1 for both years and couldn't fault it at all last year. Think we paid £300 each for the entire trip, thats including everything even a hotel in Folkestone the night before the tunnel.
Their campsite is only a 1km, but fairly steep, walk from the track. Sat between the track and Malmedy only a couple of KMs if that.
Having seen the traffic during the whole weekend last year I wouldn't want to stay anywhere other than walking distance unless you are prepared to leave very early/late. After the race the traffic on the main road seemed to be stationary from the chequered flag until 10PM, luckily we were sat by our tents with a beer enjoying the sun!
Overall though I thoroughly enjoyed and would 100% recommend it!

im going for the full weekend with my mate in the "camper" van
ferry from harwich wednesday night, back monday afternoon.
its gonna be mental, if the nurburgring during truckfest is anything to go by!
we've rather sensibly booked a cabin for the return trip so we can get some much needed sleep
edit: we are staying at the official camping, in the green zone i think. by malmedy area

Just a warning to first timers, Spa is probably my favourite race track of all time, but from a spectators point of view it's not great as you can never see that much of the track from any one vantage point. If you are happy to accept that compromise then the sight of the cars going flat out at Spa is amazing, but if you want to see a bit more than a small part of the track Spa may not be for you. It's also not the best set up in terms of screens and other aids to analyse what is going on.... more of an old school F1 event compared to more modern offerings. HTH!

Same as us, see you there, my legs still ache from last year with that hill, I think the 1km to the track refers to the vertical distance from the campsite to the trackWe are camping with CampingF1 for both years and couldn't fault it at all last year. Yea its not an enjoyable walk! Mind you the heat didnt help last year! We got lucky on the saturday and hitched a lift from a UK plated VW camper and I decided to drive on race day and pay the $10, also meant we could take more beer as we had less distance to carry it!An other one staying with Camping F1 here. Arriving Thursday. Sound like a bit of nightmare if you want to leave Sunday, I'm planning to head off Monday morning as soon as I can get packed. Any of those who have camped there before, how easy is it to get clear of the circuit and round Liege?

That's what we did last year (and this), piece of cake on Monday morning and Liege was no real problem (seem to remember there were some fairly minor roadworks), around Brussels was busy, we hit that around 9am, clear all the way to Calais after that.Norfolkit said:

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Got to drop someone at Lille and get back to the Chunnel. FYI the tunnel is fully booked on the Monday from lunchtime until about 10pm. I spoke to them the other day to see if I could drop my crossing back a bit, but not that much! So definitely don't want to miss my slot!josbrownlie said:

Last year we left the campsite at about 10am and spent the afternoon in Eindhoven before our crossing at 9:30ishpm. Took us 6 hours to get from Eindhoven to Calais as we hit Brugge at rush hour and then they shut the A16(I think) as you enter the top of France from Belgium for some police activity. But thats a one off and the traffic leaving Spa on monday was non existent. My crossing this year is at 8:30 PM so another couple of hours seeing a friend in Eindhoven.

I am hoping to go with my mrs and her dad next year. Only issue I have is the date. My work favours mums with kids for holiday so hoping I can book it and use that to my advantage lol
Any suggestions on sites to book camping etc as a package?
Camping F1. Booked this years package in September last year, £165 for the 3 day ticket and 3 nights camping. As said above its only a 1km walk to the track and a popular choice.Any suggestions on sites to book camping etc as a package?
