Belgium GP SPA best places to view with Gen admission ticket
Discussion
Looking for the best tickets to watch the BE GP either go for gold grandstand package or do it on the cheap'ish and get general admission?
Usually rains at Spa, so preference is covered seating, but as in Monaco the other month you dont get that involved in the action as you would do sat on a grassy knoll somewhere along the track.
General admission £113
Gold VIP £1100 ish
A lot of money but you dont necessarily get the best experience from the gold as you would sat on a hill trackside
where is the best place to sit etc??
thanks in advance

The great thing about Spa is that it is a natural ampitheatre, so wherever you are round the track, you've usually got a good view.
When I went a few years ago, we sat on the steep banks on the Kemmel Straight (the bit that comes after Eau Rouge). Great view. We were opposite a large TV screen so we could keep up with what was happening elsewhere on the track.
We did get wet though!
The banking round Pouhon is also a good viewing point, but very busy.
If money was no object, I'd go for the grandstand at La Source - from there you can see the start and Eau Rouge.

I don't think you can camp within the circuit perimeter - only in the adjacent camp sites.
Pouhon was busy as in people standing shoulder to shoulder - partly because the viewing area is pretty narrow at that part of the track. Kemmel has more space so people can sit down on the bank.
If qualifying/the race is at 1pm, you need to get to the track between 9 and 10 to get a decent spot I reckon.
After watching qualifying on the Saturday, we walked round the track to work out where we wanted to be for the race on Sunday.

We went to Spa last year (going again this year).
We watched P1 from the Kemmel straight, not the most comfortable place, it's a very steep hill to sit on for a long time and you don't see the car for very long.
For P2 we went around to Pouhon, the hill overlooking the entrance to the corner, cracking view, again not the most comfortable place to sit but over the years people have dug out little "steps" in the bank so you can get sort of comfortable.
For GP2 quali we went down the hill to the bottom of Pouhon to where it's flat, much more comfortable place to sit and a great view all the way around the corner. We were going to sit there for the race but it was rammed when we got there and we were in just after 7am! We eventually watched from the top of Pouhon and that was packed by 11. Pictures where we were sitting

You swine, OP. I saw your post this morning, and booked the ferry, hotel in Brussels, grandma for the kids and race day tickets by early afternoon.
Taking the M140 on it's first Euro trip!
EEEKKK!!Taking the M140 on it's first Euro trip!
Where are you going to stay in Brussels?
Maybe share a taxi, Helicopter or share fuel?
I think looking at the pictures I may get some grandstand tickets, I dont know if I can be bothered to try and huddle for a space... it was difficult enough at Monaco this year with all the dicks in Ferrari gear!!!

From Brussels to Spa is an hour and 40 minutes on a day with no traffic.Taking the M140 on it's first Euro trip!
This would be akin to going to the British GP and electing to stay in a hotel in Birmingham, in distance terms.
Went last year which was the first time, stayed with Camping F1, and going again this year! On friday we were on kemmel straight but on saturday we ventured across (round, under, through a forest) the track to the other side of the straight. Was very quiet even on race day, big screen to the side but you are fairly far from any toilets/food/drink. The best part is that for pretty much the whole F1 race its in the shade, which if you went last year you'll remember how hot it was!

Not really a problem at Spa. There's always room on the bank between no-name T11 and Pouhon.CraigyMc said:

Play the man, not the ball? fk off.
In any case, I lived Lille (France, but on the Belgian border) for 6 months, and have driven through Belgium umpteen times, as well has having been to the Belgian GP (driving to it).

We camped at (near - CampingF1) the track last year, the traffic getting away from the track was stationary for the best part of 4 hours after the race, we could see it from the campsite, this year is a sell out, I'd think twice about it.

rather than the British F1 I am looking at Spa next year as been to visit nothing more. So am following this thread
We went to Spa last year and although the circuit is good from a viewing point-of-view the organisation and facilities were dire....i mean REALLY DIRE!Nowhere near enough toilets, nowhere near enough food vendors (how about a 45 minute queue for a bottle of water) Total grid-lock on the roads after the race.....we are talking 4 hours to get out of the carpark!
The organisers need to visit Silverstone to see how it should be done!
Anyway, we've done Spa now so don't need to go back
