Hungaroring tips
Discussion
We did exactly that in 2015, apartment near the chain bridge and commuted to the track each day.
1. It will probably be bloody hot so dress appropriately. Incidentally, sun cream is really expensive out there so take it with you (having said that we had rain at some point every day we were there, normally thunderstorms during the night but it did pour down during the pit walk).
2. We caught the train out to the track and back on Thursday and Friday, there are 2 stations you can get off at, we found Mogyrod to be the closest to the track. It's probably best part of a 30 minute walk up to the track and it's all uphill, trains are pretty frequent but not air conditioned. On quali and race day we caught a cab out to the track and train back but make sure you use the "official partner" cabs, they're half the price of a normal cab, 6x6 Taxi, Taxi2000 and Taxi4 are the official ones. Official ones are/were about £20 each way.
3. Food is brilliant at the track and cheap (paprika chicken kebabs, yum).
4. Don't know what sort of tickets you have but the Hungaroring is great for GA, many of the grandstands are uncovered so make sure you've got a hat.
5. The Hungaroring is quite hilly and on practice day the didn't open all of the entrances plus you can't walk all the way around the track, so you might find that day you have a fair bit of waking once you get there (Friday wasn't "roaming" when we went).

Thanks, that's just the sort of info I'm after - we also have an apartment booked while staying in Budapest.
We have grandstand seats at the end of the start finish straight (uncovered), having just been at Le Mans I have a very fresh memory of being at a scorchio motor sport event.
Cheers
Richard

Budapest will most likely be a lot more scorchio than that, it will probably be very humid too. I loved the Hungarian grand prix, we had a great time. You should be OK with your seats as they're very close to the main entrance, that's always open, even on pit walk day.Cheers
