watching F1 abroad via sky Go
Discussion
We'll be flying to France during the next Grand Prix and hoping to watch the race via sky go when in the hotel later in the afternoon, I have a tablet that can use both roaming 4G or local wifi
I've not used sky Go and not used it abroad, will this "just work" or will some IP address regional broadcasting rights nonsense thwart me?

I used VPN too & it worked perfectly.
For some channels you also need to change the clock on your device to UK time. (Not Sky, but iPlayer etc)
Last year I used total VPN, this year I'm having a go with Norton's VPN
Have you paid for the subscription or just the trial. Is it any good? For some channels you also need to change the clock on your device to UK time. (Not Sky, but iPlayer etc)

I use Hola which seems to work fine, pay one month subscription when I want to use it abroad and no problems with sky go. However BT won't let you sign in without location services being switched on and this shows up that your abroad and so you can't log in and watch sport. No problems with F1 but can't watch the footie.

Ark or whale vpn on iPad. I've been using both for last 3 years. I've not used sky Go and not used it abroad, will this "just work" or will some IP address regional broadcasting rights nonsense thwart me?
Daily top ups for extra minutes so always plenty in reserve.
I have VPN and it has worked well in the past. This year, adverts and catch up play OK, but when it is live action from FOM the stream is constantly hanging.
I think it is my poor 2-Mb connection in rural France that is the crux of the problem, since FOM upgraded their stream to HD+.
You will also need a VPN to watch C4 later.

Setting one up is dead easy and took my IT guys about 30 seconds to do it for me.
Providing you have bandwidth you then have SkyGo anywhere in the world.
