F1 teams recording their drivers during TV interviews ?

Ted I think it was interviewed the Williams PR girl a few weeks ago and asked this very question and she said its to stop you guys mis-quoting us
She said it was because they're collecting samples of their drivers' voices to help them with the android racing drivers they're developing to replace the human drivers... unless she had another team member recording what she said, in which case it was to stop people from mis-quoting them.blade7 said:
I knew it had been going on for years, just wondered what the real reason was for it. Post race there's usually no sign of it, so the official reason given sounds like BS.
Not sure I follow. They have been doing it for years in the press pen.The reasons are multiple:
- Ensure that if the driver is misquoted that the team have a record to help go and correct the journalist
- Source of extra quotes for the PR team
- Helps the PR team coach the driver on responses (those that are coachable...)

Don't be s you fking misogynist pricks.I'd always assumed it was the driver's girlfriend / boyfriend - or in the case of Jenson, above, his mum.
I'd also assumed it was so the teams could use the driver's comments in their press releases without having to go through the tedious and embarrassing process of interviewing them again.
