SKY & Ted Kravitz ?
Discussion
As a Sky customer I am now avoiding the pre-race and post-race programming due to Ted Kravitz. It seems he's a frustrated wannabe stand-up comedian, and fails miserably at each attempt. It's a shame, as the rest of the Sky line-up is good. Ted just isn't funny. He'd be better keeping it straight, or move onto reporting for the local Gazette.
Anyone else finding this lately ?

I really enjoy his technical insights and his relaxed approach. F1 coverage needs to be less stuffy and more entertaining. ted appears to be able to get interviews with all the important people so he must be respected.
He's certainly relaxed. He gets interviews mainly because he's holding a Sky mic and teams/drivers/sponsors want to be seen and heard. Some instances lately of him trying to mock the interviewees which was quite cringe worthy and disrespectful.
Much prefer the inherent dry wit of Hill and Brundle
I'd rather listen to Ted all day than have to even see the white-trouser'ed wonder Eddie "Did you know I used to run an F1 team and know everyone?" Jordan.
Whenever you think Ted's being annoying just think back a few years to Jonathan "I'm just going to list the order of cars every 20s" Legard on the BBC and I'm sure you'll be glad you're watching Ted!

Errr..wasn't Legard race co-commentator ? In terms of Paddock Patrol I'll have Lee McKenzie over Kravitz every day of the week. She's relaxed, knowledgable and has classAltrezia said:
I like ted. Certainly better than david "I must shout all the time" croft
Indeed, Ted is one of the highlights of the show for me - makes a lot of F1 more accessible. Dislike Crofty, feel he's a bit of a blinkered cheerleader for F1 as he gets annoyed with fans tweets that rightly point out a dull race.Jenson Button puts Kravitz to shame as a presenter even when he's half cut.

He's a bit of a bumbling idiot and his grasp of anything technical is often poor, but I'd take him over the buffoon "Crofty" any day.
I paid for a NowTV Sky Sports month pass so I could watch the first three races on Sky, but won't be bothering again. Brundle's commentary is great, but pretty much everything else is like fingernails down a blackboard.
Really wish we could have a Brundle/Coulthard commentary team, as per BBC 2011 (IIRC)

Yep, that with Jake Humphrey and Lee McKenzie on the beeb really was the high watermark point in F1 coverage.Smollet said:
Always thought Murray Walker and James Hunt was pretty hard to beat.
With my rose-tinted specs on, I'd have to agree.Doink said:
Much preferred crofty during the free practice sessions on the BBC red button, sometimes with Ant or Karun Chandhok, it always felt like a late night radio phone in
So did I. I guess there wasn't really anything during practice sessions that would turn Crofty into a shouty moron, whereas on race day, he hyperventilates over every snatched brake.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
