My better half has suprised me with a trip to the Spanish F1 for my Xmas present. She has got us general admission tickets. What I want to know is were to watch from or should I try for some seats instead.

General admission gives you access to plenty of good viewing areas of the circuit at Montmelo.

However, on race day, those areas can become very crowded and whilst good humoured, in the heat, and the fact that many of them are steeply sloped grass banks, getting and keeping a good spot isn't always that easy.

I have been going to the GP most years, for the last 10 years or so, and now reserve grandstand seats. It's much nicer to have a base and a guaranteed seat!

Generally uncovered, so you will need good sun protection.

There are plenty of websites where you can see the view from the various stands before choosing one.

Seats do add a bit to the costs but I think it's worth it!

Booked my seats last weekend......

I was also lucky enough to have a special Xmas gift to attend this GP and very much looking forward to it.

We went to the Singapore race in 2013 and WOW is all I can say. Its one of the races everyone who is an F1 nut should go to if they can. Wonderful venue and country.

Been to Silverstone twice and I was very disappointed by it all and the costs were terrible compared to what you can actually get by going to any of the other races abroad.

We were in Montreal last year albeit 1 week after the race had been there but it was still a buzzing place to be.

Cheers

Which seats do you recommend bearing in mind I am a tight Yorkshireman! Also when I have looked for them they appear to include the admission ticket as well which I already have!

We normally sit in the 'stadium' area.....Stand B.....but any stands around there have a good wide view of the track rather than just perhaps one corner as some do.

Also worth trying to make sure that you have a good view of a TV screen which enhances the enjoyment of the race.

These are shown on the circuit diagrams that are on the Circuit website.

I am not sure how you can get around the fact that you already have general admission tickets or if you can just 'top up' to add a grandstand.

I wonder if a call to the circuit might help......

Good luck.
