I think it was Hammy's failure to make enough best starts that did him. Not sure which points system was the 'fairest' but I like the idea of only taking a driver's best finishes.

This always drives me mad. If you go back and make any significant change the future wouldn't stay as it was, everything has a knock on effect. "If Hamilton hadn't had that engine failure...", if he hadn't had that engine failure, every single race after would have potentially played out differently in one way or another. Has nobody watched Back to the Future?!F1 journos trying to justify their existence in the quietest month of the year?
