I think I am not alone in saying that the last race of the season was the best spectator race for years?

Based on that, perhaps they should be slowing down the cars rather than speeding them up?

I don't think you quite understand what Hamilton was doing in the last part of the race. If all cars we're slower the racing would be just the same, just slower. Its the fact that Hamilton was going slower than he could have done that made the race more interesting.

I often wonder if they could get rid of the blue flags. Forcing the lead car to have to overtake back-markers on merit might give the #2 car more opportunities.

I did understand that, it is more of the point that overtaking is so difficult when the cars have to have so much aerodynamic efficiency to go so fast. Reduce that will slow the cars down but make them easier to overtake.
